Had enough of the footie threads.

Came in here for cheering up.

New infections well below 3000 again today. Great stuff. Not all schools were off last week, the ones down here are off for the next 2 weeks for instance. Hoping to see the figures drop even further over this week whilst all school are closed, with a bit of luck. It'll be great if we can get it down below 2000 by the time shops, gyms and hairdressers open.

Saw that earlier, but to be fair we have been in lockdown since the U.K. variant it, so I’d take the overall stat with a pinch a salt. I’d distinguish between, COVID and the IK variety myself.

The real test is coming with the U.K. opening up, fingers crossed.

Outdoors but in small numbers, socially distanced (or if not for a short period of time only) would be, IMO, safe as houses.

The opening up of beer gardens, though, doesn't tick too many of those boxes and I'd expect an increase of infections...which will lead to a surge once service goes indoors. Let's hope the "vaccine shield" bears the pressure.

394 Deaths from influenza
48,168 due to Covid

So not sure why you are so vehemently against the vaccine.

and before you say oh so no one else matters - well sure they do but them very people also were dying of the flu between 2016 and 2019, well over 100 thousand and as far as I recall Everton and every other stadium was full to the rafters back then and I could have a pint to boot and I don't remember lockdowns, masks and looking at people like they were aliens back then
3. Nightingale hospital unused? someone here said due to lockdown, really I could have sworn it was a hospital and not a pub
3. How much money exchanged hands between Hancock, SAGE and Borris for the track and trace fiasco..? dare I say dodgy money

What will be considered a fact by most on here is that you are talking out of your backside.

Only thing you are correct about is the dodgy money part although that is more that they took advantage of a situation and saw the chance to make some money. The rest though? Garbage.

It is helping the effort against the virus. But make no bones about it: if this wasn't an emergency this vaccine would be pulled. Unquestionably so.

There's been no evidence that there's any link to blood clots more than there would be from a contraceptive pill or, weirdly, Pfizer's jab.

Now, unfortunately, isn't the time for overcaution.

It'd be a stupid decision IMO, whether by the MRHA or not.

1.1 million with Long Covid in the UK and guess what most of them arnt old aged.
Absolutely wicked , disabilitating and non discriminate disease that you keep refering to as a form of flu , do you know anyone with Long Flu ?
