I think this is a good shout.

There's clearly some insurance, hence why they have said they're still on target to get all the over 50s and vulnerable groups either fully done or their first jab by April 15th, and carry on with pre-booked second doses too, even with the shortage in AZ from India.

You’d imagine that’s the clever play, be a bit mad doing the one dose strategy and not being confident in the supply of dose 2, when such a big % of the population having a 12 week deadline.

Maybe the domestic production figures are bigger and maybe being stored for round 2, you’d hope so. Haven’t seen anything on a buffer though.

I think we hold about back a certain % or our supply as @ buffer, now that I think of it.

My limited understanding is for every 1st jab given, a 2nd dose is kept in reserve for that person.

Otherwise, the effect of the 1st dose ends up effectively being wasted if the 2nd is not given in the required timescale.

and it doesn't even prevent you from passing covid to someone else, so its pretty pointless and its carried out with a pile of disclaimers -Astrazeneca jab is not approved by the FDA, most of the covid jabs are issued under a NDA themselves.

Take a minute and read this slowly. If we didn't lock down then the number of deaths would be so much higher than it is now. Over 125,000 people have died WITH the restrictions in place. The fact that people like you think there is some global conspiracy that every nation is in on is frightening.

I for one would like to thank the companies who developed and manufactured the vaccines and sold them to the U.K. because we placed an order. To the EU in whose countries these plants happened to be based I would say, tough [Poor language removed], get your order in quicker next time and stop trying to bully your way to the front of the queue.....

Anyway it looks as though the countries have given VDL a really good task, yes, get as many vaccines as you can, but don’t start a bleeding vaccine war because we’ll all lose... Now through her own stupidity her job really is on the line.....

People lost family members over flu, seasonal deaths due to obesity, cancer, heart diseases and dozens of other illnesses. EVERY YEAR but now everyone is seemingly dying or getting sick from covid and covid alone

the fact of the matter is that a normal healthy adulty has little or no chance of dying of covid 19 and the NHS telling me over 5000 people died of covid despite bot getting tested for it sums up the whole thing.

Incorrect. 64,000 people died in January 2018 in England and Wales of all causes. Public Health England estimates that across the 2017/18 flu season there were around 22,000 deaths associated with flu in England.
