And the outcome of this is French people are not getting vaccines and are going into a strict lock down again, because the UK medical Agency are suddenly untrustworthy well done
I don't have the exact data to hand but recall France having high levels of anti-vaxx sentiment prior to this year, so I suppose you could argue that Macron was either playing to this nervousness or should have been more careful with his words on account of this nervousness, depending on your disposition to the cheese-eating surrender monkeys our lovely neighbours.

Funny isn't it? France says the trial didn't have enough old folk and so wait for data showing that it's safe in old folk -> all hell breaks loose. America conducts additional trials so that American people were included before signing it off -> yeah that's fine.

Again that's extremely selective and not exactly telling the whole tale. It's the huge reputational damage from rather spurious misleading comments from the French Professor of F*** A** that has done such lasting harm. He's effectively limited it to the 55-65 age group with his ridiculously imprecise and inaccurate statements and past actions.

Macron is busy spreading his malignant influence far across the county's own borders.

Schools have been open 2 weeks and so far no massive rise in cases and hospitalisations, deaths etc all still dropping.

Another week to go before people can - urhhhh - play golf, or meet friends outside.

At least another 3 weeks until anything actually opens up.
Exactly.
It will be about three weeks after everyone over 50, vulnerable and health workers have had a jab.
Along with the AZ news from the US data, we should be positive.

'Vaccines aren't the answer'
R still declining here despite schools being fully reopened.

I have all confidence we will be open as the roadmap says. As for travel, we could use a traffic light system for each country, which I heard was being suggested according to a government insider talking to the Guardian.

Red= country is closed to visitors from U.K. and not accepting anyone in.
Amber= Hotel quarantine on arrival home.
Green= Exercise caution.

That’s what I think it will be like, with both vaccinations compulsory.

Hospital numbers are going down all the time and deaths declining. I don’t see why we won’t meet June 21st.

Last week we had 640 deaths, a huge fall from 1,015 the week prior. It can only get better now.

Not complicated is it - It's almost like we're an island
 Err... it's incredibly complicated.

If we ban all travel how do you think we are going to feed the country? Our food needs to be delivered by... people, believe it or not. Foreign people. From Europe. And it's not just food, what about raw materials, energy, machinery etc etc etc?

Sure, we can stop all 'non-essential' travel, but it's fair to say that nobody is coming to the UK on holiday right now... so that's not going to change much.

Final comment on Macron.
I am no fan of his, he is imo a capitalist stooge who gained office through a big mispresentation as being a centrist.
But re the AZ thing, initially he only repeated the scientific consensus that not enough data was available to sanction the stuff for the very old age group.
The blood clot scare was started by the Norwegians and then picked up by a a lot of other countries.
Don't let Macron become the bête noir and scapegoat to take pressure off UK gov.

There’s no pressure on the U.K. government, we and they are doing ok.....

I’m pretty sure that the EU numbers would be much higher if they did anything like the testing we do.....

This is an important point. I seen a news article before comparing the rates per 100,000 to last May/June. At no point did they mention that we are now doing 12x the quantity of tests. The more tests you do, the more cases you will get.

But it will be already here.

They keep saying that the most prevalent strain in central Europe now is the UK strain, too.

Our borders are 'shut' but that's not going to stop trade, so planes will be landing, lorries coming and going, ships coming into port and leaving etc etc

All those things require people to work and travel and it can all play its part too.

I'm not seeing many people jotting off on holiday right now.

Sad bruce mate isnt it in this modern age we cant get together and just fkn agree something for the common good of the people,
I include both the Uk and EU and those further around the globe,
Just sod the money and politics for once and just get it sorted do away with the patents and help mass production set ups around the globe.
Knock on effect the poor countries get new jobs and skills as well as a way to handle the virus.
I know , that I have a go at the EU on here but I dont have anything but respect and admiration for the people over there, there family and community are miles better than us for example .
Bloody shame the way these politicians are behaving.
