It's probably the right decision to pause if they're worried. Just, as soon as they clear it - which I'm sure it will be - start it up again. As long as that happens, unless another vaccine arrives to market in the next week, it's sound.

I think the UK have recorded more blood clots in people who have had Pfizer than AZ, the numbers are like sub-20 for both. It's basically a nothing link, but better to be safe than sorry I suppose, if those countries who have used less AZ than the UK has are seeing similar numbers.

TBF the issue really isn't how many clots there have been, its whose developed them. If its all otherwise healthy 20/30 years olds then that is probably more alarming than all 80/90 year olds who've had a history of strokes.

Ilve never had a reaction to a vaccine before, and Ilm not expecting one with this (beyond the usual ones AZ have held their hands up to).

I have a horrible feeling I'll be proven right on this AZ vaccine. It's looked questionable right from the start. It was rushed through by the UK government and its regulatory body and it looks like it'll massively back fire.

Let's hope not, I want you to get off the mark with getting something right in this thread but hopefully it's not the AZ vaccine being gash.

That is backwards thinking though, roydo - a tiny % of people die in car accidents per year compared to everyone who takes a trip in the car per year, but that doesn't mean noone should give a flip about car safety. If there is a problem with this, especially if its limited to certain conditions or circumstances, they've got to find out what that is or the overall confidence in the vaccine (in all vaccines, really) will drop.

I've always been going to take it, whatever the name of the vaccines. That's not an issue. The issue is that some are determined to ignore some questions over this particular vaccine: some because they're (rightkly) terrified it's a dodgy vaccine they've had; others because they're playing the game of vaccine nationalism.

As I said above: I'll get the jab whatever it is and I'll suffer the usual reaction most get. I accept that. I just dont believe we should ever stop questioning. You dont need to be an anti-vaxxer to do that, just a sentient human being.

I hope so too, but when a problem occurs then I'd much rather they look into what has happened (as indeed we are) rather than just saying "its because of Brexit".

There is nowt wrong in having a inquiring mind. I think we both do.

But there is also nothing wrong in researching (as best one can) into this strange world we are all now talking about, (vax/bio stuff), and realising the folk who know this stuff, are fine with all the vaccines coming on line.
