Its not 'fat' peoples fault but them people have weakened immunity : so more open to getting sick

around 100k people died in between 2016 and 2017 over the flu - remember that? the amazing thing is no one was falling over themselves and getting knickers in a twist and just like covid all the deaths were mostly the people with underlying health issues or over 60.

Honestly mate have a think. If we allow it to run rampant then more people get it. More people get seriously ill. The hospitals get overwhelmed and a lot more people die because they cannot get the treatment they need. It's not hard. Jesus. The numbers we are seeing would be so much worse if we do nothing.

Lockdowns are meaningless and do more trouble than you may think, and its not just my opinion its shared by doctors. But lets cripple the country and send it to Uganda levels of GDP

Dont think anyone denies lock down are bad, just its the lesser of two evils. NHS and Social Care just would not cope after years of of being underfunded and even more people would have died unnecessarily had we not... Factor less variants the better.

I agree with your point about the lockdowns being needed, and why that is.

I also agree the NHS has been underfunded.

But... everywhere in the world, regardless of the state of their healthcare system (and the NHS is still one of the very, very best, as proved by the vaccine roll out) has had to lockdown.

So while funding should have been better, we didn't lockdown because of that, and that's not the only reason - or probably even main reason - they couldn't cope.

Just had my jab down to 9 weeks for the second.
Nurse said the under 55 will be getting done sooner than has been said.

We're having our first on Thursday and the second 9 weeks later too. Not sure if 9 weeks has become the norm now but I guess other vaccines coming on line makes this achievable

The speed this is moving at I wouldn't be surprised if all adults have had their first jab by end of June.

Some scary stuff doing the rounds regarding BAME communities though. Not too sure what to believe

We're not sure why but my 31 yr old gf has been had a text saying she can get her first vaccine.

She might be classed as BAME, but we're not fully sure why. She also had TB when she was younger but that was taken off her record and they refused to put it back on... maybe its that.

She has stated to think that. I think the turnover where we are in fairly low in comparison.

My missus workmates 16 yr old daughter has had the same.

She`s as white as they come, but has a long history of complex of anxiety related problems, so probably falls under the new remit of vaccinating people with mental health problems and learning difficulties. ( stats are showing that they`re many more times likely to get the virus )

Sounds to me like they`re scouring the records for anyone who could be classed as even slightly at risk - your gf with TB as an example.
