How does one get in mate? Heard a few people say they've got relatives in for the jab but assumed you could only go in if they called you in as such. Mate of mine said his ma literally walked up to one of the places doing the jabs and she was given one after answering a few questions as someone never shown up for their appointment.

Might put a grey wig on and hang around the doctors lol

Go to Germany and say you will only have the AZ vaccine, they will give you a million of them.....

*shrug*

Would you feel sorry for somebody who froze to death after being offered a warm coat and a fire?

No, me neither.
It's a very unpleasant British trait that has reared its head, to walk on by.

Many countries just are simply not in the dire death rate as we in the UK.

Subsequently their urgency to have vaccine is not as urgent as ours.

It's not blanket ban on AZ in other European countries just for older people as the data is not sufficient to satisfy their regulators.

And vaccine is short term there will be vaccines resistant strains I hear on LBC from the people who advise SAGE there is already, said months ago treatment of Covid is the way out.

And the current uk vaccine program is momentous in effort and just not sustainable in the long term.

LBC is not a news source.

Germany have one of the worst death rates in the world.

What about the UK?

I don’t see how that question is relevant.

The discussion was about germany and the reason why people aren’t taking the vaccine.

Yer man said some countries aren’t as desperate as us to roll out the vaccine as their death rates aren’t as bad, which is a ridiculous point as germany have had a winter nearly as bad as ours and spiralled their death rates.

Germany could be heading for a bit of trouble. Been in various forms of lockdown since November. Certain health experts have been saying for months that the B117 variant will start taking over around late Feb/early March, at which time case numbers would start going up again despite measures. That it would then completely take off in mid-March. So far they've been proved right on the first part of that. Cases have been creeping up again the last week or so. Added to that the govt is under huge pressure to open up the economy after 3 months, and the vaccine rollout is extremely slow. Rollout is in the jurisidiction of each individual region, some of which are more competent than others. Everyone is arguing about who should get first dibs on the AZ vaccine seeing as over 65s can't get it and in the meantime it just sits there unused. Not hard to get an idea of what could be on its way in March/April if all these things come together.

Yeah, have I confused death rates with numbers of deaths?

Still, they’ve had an appalling winter and need the vaccine to be a success as much as anyone.

The vaccine is a global effort.
Yeah you're right I was looking at deaths per million. If you switch it to total deaths they're in the top 10.

A very promising study, from prestigious Robert Koch Institute

Schulen sind eher keine Pandemie-Treiber
(Schools tend not to be a pandemic driver)
