Booked into the Royal for the Pfizer tomorrow. They’ve got some that’s going in the bin soon if not used so me lad got me and his mum in.

How does one get in mate? Heard a few people say they've got relatives in for the jab but assumed you could only go in if they called you in as such. Mate of mine said his ma literally walked up to one of the places doing the jabs and she was given one after answering a few questions as someone never shown up for their appointment.

Might put a grey wig on and hang around the doctors lol

My lad works in an administrative role (compiles the COVID stats). Think they put something around saying if you have any relatives who want a jab get them in. Probs cos most get called to docs surgeries or other places whereas hospitals are probably just given an amount to use and they don’t want to waste it.

Not again FB..

Got to admit felt a bit guilty at “jumping” the queue, but I’m coming up to 61 so would expect the call in the next few weeks and it saves me having to make a 260 mile round trip to Hull where my medical centre is due to work

I'm the same age as you mate and I got a text for the Pfizer jab, don't feel guilty at all, I think it just depends where you live, how available the jab is.

When they have some over ,how do you find out that info not for me like for someone in the family. Do they post it on the internet or something

I think it's just done by word of mouth mate.

It's probably the easiest way. Obviously if people work there then, by and large, they're more likely to be from the area etc so it just makes it all more convenient.

In an ideal world, there'd maybe be a better system, but as long as it's not going to waste, then that's all that really matters imo.

Everyone is going to get theirs when the time is right, but if through some stroke of luck people can get it earlier, then it helps.

According to the BBC news earlier tonight, there 'are still 17,000 in hospital'.

However, the true number is 14,862 in the UK as of today. England has 12,449 which is from this time last week a decrease of 3,214 patients.

Although the vaccine uptake is going brilliantly here, about 80% of AZ vaccine in the EU is still going unused.
