The rolling 7 day average for cases in Liverpool down to 173.1 per 100,000 population
Hopefully we get that down to under 100 in the next week or so.

I have less issue with the risk being taken (someone probably had to do it and UK with B1117 was a good candidate)I would say the recent evidence suggests there will be a decent level of protection (similar to Flu jab levels) after one jab of Pfizer at 12 weeks.
It would be unusual for the efficacy to increase between week one and week four and then to have a dramatic drop off eight weeks later, from what I understand.
Not certain, but seems more likely than not that the risk (arguably a needless one) may pay off.

'We could do with Boris Johnson': Kerry councillors criticise vaccine rollout | BreakingNews
Ireland could do with UK prime minister Boris Johnson taking over for six months in an effort to speed up the vaccination of people against Covid-19, a statutory monthly meeting of Kerry County Council heard today. The unexpected suggestion from public representatives was made durwww.breakingnews.ie

There was no scientific basis to that change of schedule, and, far from "paying off" as some people seem to believe, it may still return to haunt the UK.I have less issue with the risk being taken (someone probably had to do it and UK with B1117 was a good candidate)
than how it appears to have been taken.
I.e. there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of data collection on tracking the risk (measuring antibody levels, detailed symptom tracking compared to the 3 week gap, hospitalization rates etc) and that everyone involved was aware of the greater risk with informed consent.
I guess Dave nobody thinks their own country has done well in all this.Kerry County Council have spoken.

I hear that Kerry men dont have a particularly good reputation in being astute?I guess Dave nobody thinks their own country has done well in all this.

There are MAJOR doubts about loss of potency between first to second jabs over such a long period as 3 months. It really isn't. The first shot has absolutely amazing efficacy alone, and on top of that there was a point last year where we didn't know if a vaccine was even possible! Let's just appreciate what a great job the NHS are doing of getting as many people protected as possible at a rapid rate that's exceeding everyone's expectations.
If we are going to compare it to football, a better analogy would be we are 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go (1st shot provides bulk of protection). We just need to shore it up with a 4th. (second shot).
Let's all have some optimism and faith in Science for the love of God!
Agree with the first sentence, disagree with the second. But is it not the case, that 70%+ of the UK population vaccinated would allow life in the UK to return to a much more normal one day to day, than if those vaccines were spread among the global populace ?
I'm not sure it is the responsibility of the government of one nation to ensure that vaccine distribution is equitable across the globe.
