It really isn't. The first shot has absolutely amazing efficacy alone, and on top of that there was a point last year where we didn't know if a vaccine was even possible! Let's just appreciate what a great job the NHS are doing of getting as many people protected as possible at a rapid rate that's exceeding everyone's expectations.

If we are going to compare it to football, a better analogy would be we are 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go (1st shot provides bulk of protection). We just need to shore it up with a 4th. (second shot).

Let's all have some optimism and faith in Science for the love of God!

We're at A) 1.84% at two doses and at B) 3.6% of the first dose, we're running the two dose strategy, with the Mrna's three weeks apart, so obviously B) is going to feed A).

Todays our first day seriously rolling out AZ, we're not giving it to over 70s.

I think we're doing grand, given we started a month behind and have only had two vaccines really up to today.

If what I'm hearing is right, everywhere will be awash with vaccines from the start of March onward and all this vaccine nationalism will be a very spring thing like PPE this time last year. Every western country is going to be grand, we will all be sending on surplus's to the developing world after Q2.

That article just states what we all already know? They've took a calculated risk to save the maximum number of lives. In an ideal world we'd be sticking to the 21 days but hundreds are dying daily and lives need to be saved.

a more correct analogy would be 3-0 up with a player in the side that we aren’t really sure is eligible or not

I really don’t care who’s winning the vaccine race, I just want as many people to get protection as poss.

There’s no evidence to support us or Denmark or France moving the Pfizer spacing back. Then again, there’s no evidence so far that it’s not working either or having an adverse impact

It would appear that the vaccine roll-out in Europe is about to get going properly. Ireland have vaccinated about 200,000 this week alone 80,000 vaccines will come into the country so in 1 week we'll have equivalent of 40% of what's already been done.. my local vaccine centre will be opened in about 2 weeks.. Slow start but it looks like we'll be getting our act together very soon.. Europe getting muddled up in regulations delayed a swift role out.. UK managed to get out of Europe at a good time and plough ahead with the roll-out.
Here's hoping that by the end of the summer things will be relativity back to normal. I haven't seen my father in a year and due to other circumstances my lads haven't seen him in almost 2 years... it will be 2 years in June.

Christmas, which IIRC is around when that decision was made, was 7.5 weeks ago

What are peoples views on when the USA will start allowing tourists in again? Will it be later this year or even 2022? We've got our wedding booked in Vegas for June but we cant see that happening now.
