What are peoples views on when the USA will start allowing tourists in again? Will it be later this year or even 2022? We've got our wedding booked in Vegas for June but we cant see that happening now.
June 2021, world will be opened no matter what. $€£ matters.

yes, and they are (or should be) locked down with everyone else

do you want them with a risk of being without effective protection now, or when society has opened up again?

A large portion of the population, and a very large portion of the most at risk will have a very acceptable level of protection before we open up again......

for the people on one AZ jab, yes (provided they don’t do something crazy like say the gap is now 18 weeks)

for the people who’ve had one Pfizer jab - they would have if we’d done this properly. Again, we do not know that they will still have it by the twelve weeks point.

Brennan by May (and certainly summer) we’d be at those levels anyway, except we’d have it properly.

We would actually be at a higher level of second dose...

Like I said, you can argue that the strategy of one dose for more people is the wrong way to go, but the fact remains that even with that the UK will be in a much better position to lift some restrictions as we move into the Summer than a lot of other nations.

I'd be surprised if we get to June and there are any large western nations that have given two doses of vaccine to nearly a quarter of their population.

Perhaps any on here who have had the Pfizer jab in the U.K. will let us know how long the gap was to the 2nd jab and how they actually got on.....

Indeed, however you look at it, the U.K. has given about 4 or 5 times as many jabs for every 100 people than everyone bar one or two countries. We are doing OK......

I would say the recent evidence suggests there will be a decent level of protection (similar to Flu jab levels) after one jab of Pfizer at 12 weeks.

It would be unusual for the efficacy to increase between week one and week four and then to have a dramatic drop off eight weeks later, from what I understand.

Not certain, but seems more likely than not that the risk (arguably a needless one) may pay off.

I hope that’s true, but I’d love to see the recent evidence supporting that and especially the evidence that existed when they made that decision.
