I couldn’t give a crap about being second on some stupid table. We could have had about 10-12% of the population ‘fully’ immunised. But we now have about 23% of the population inoculated to a degree where they will neither be hospitalised nor die from Covid, and more and more studies showing that the U.K. strategy is the correct one. When you receive your first jab, you will perhaps appreciate it more.....

Definitely. The Pfizer vaccine immunity isn't going to disappear in 12 weeks.

Its incredible that 15m in the UK have been vaccinated and are protected against this deadly disease. Obviously soon the boosters will start which is great.

Lots of information out there that one pfizer dose provides a level of protection. Have a google yourself.

The booster obviously improves protection compared to 1 vaccination.

The simple fact is 1 dose helps people significantly. You can deny that all you want.

This has nothing to do with politics. Our medical people have decided that a certain level of protection in many people is better than a full level of protection in a fewer number. I’m not sure how you can’t understand this. They are looking at saving lives......

No idea mate. They tell you which one you’ve had and it’s written on a card with the batch number and date. However, as we ordered 100million doses of AZ and 40million of Pfizer, make the AZ in the U.K. and are dependent upon the EU allowing export of the Pfizer, you could make a reasonable guess that it’s mostly AZ.....

AZ is being ranked second best here in Australia because of the difference in the efficacy rate between AZ and Pfizer, but my understanding is that the AZ rate goes up to a similar rate as Pfizer after the second dose.

Funny thing is, AZ is being manufactured here in Melbourne.

Late to the party I know - but does it not melt anybody else's head that people are still allowed to travel into the country?

Of all of the cloth-headed decisions this government has made I still can't quite understand this one

I know, it’s daft

in some cases though - well it’s not just people being daft

some might be essential work - power, gas etc.

some might be flying back to see a family member on their last legs. Look at the Klopp story. It’s horrid that he didn’t get to go and see his mother or to her funeral.

there’s a lot of possible reasons why people have to travel. But the quarantine system is now in place, I just don’t see why it took so long to set up

as we’re seeing in aus and nz though, it doesn’t automatically mean the virus will not creep in undetected. In fact, the recent cases over there to me just show how much this thing gets into people who have absolutely no symptoms at all, and then act as carriers without the foggiest idea
