Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Germany are going to be rolling out an online tool where hospitals can register what their current ICU capacity is and their level of experience dealing with respiratory illnesses, to facilitate the transfer of patients as necessary. They're also handing over anonymised mobile data to try and get an idea of trends in people's movements to try and predict where bigger increases in caseloads are likely to be.
Great idea!

from my experiences in the UK though and please correct me, I have had to attend various hospitals in a number of locations in the UK over the last few years and at each appointment the hospitals have all stated they cannot see results from other hospitals, seems to be a huge gap in our systems that would make this unworkable in the UK? Quite ridiculous from y own personal perspective and hugely frustrating but now we have a wider issue then this needs to be addressed, surely!

Fair. It's hardly the end of the world, just mildly irritating.

The tossers queuing at 6am then stripping the shops bare are doing my head in now. They should've started rationing essentials a week ago.

the answer needs to be that all trolleys are locked away and make them use baskets, yes its inconvenient, yes it has to be relaxed for elderly or infirm but fill your basket and then be gone!

After you....

I'd rather leave that to the experts. The fact is that the UK is ranked second on the Global Health Security Index, and ranked as best prepared to deal with a pandemic like this one. So I trust that our personnel know what they're doing.

Hopefully mate, there isnt must choice but to trust and hope really.

He isn't provoking racism though. He is naming it from the origin of the virus, which isn't guess work it's the facts.

It's not provoking racism that already exists, which really isn't real racism on the surface. It's racism when people do something with that sure, but naming a virus after its literal creation isn't racism.
His actions are very deliberate, can't be arsed talking about someone defending trumps rascim at this time, have a good day

Had an appointment to pick up my new reading glasses from Boots in the town centre. Phoned to say 'I am in lockdown'. I said that I could drive down and park in their delivery yard, then they could pop them through my rear window. 'No problem' they said. Gave them my reg no and am picking them up this afternoon. Am going to suggest the same to my Chemist for picking up prescriptions.

I don't think Germany had it either mate, they're building it now.
