It‘s not silliness Bruce. It’s making decisions and someone has to do it. You attribute these decisions to Boris, yet even though you are probably more qualified than he is in the sciences, you would not make a simple yes or no decision when pressed. Like myself you’ve probably made thousands of decisions that affect people, their employment, their careers and futures, but never one affecting someone’s life. Some on here probably do it for a living on a one to one basis, but never on behalf of 66 million. So when you push me as to whether or not I blame the government on something, I try to put myself in the position they were at the time, and it’s not always quite so simple. It is of course very simple after the event when the results are known.....

Besides there’s no way he’d take an injection without physical restraint, which is something we’re not prepared to do, due to the potential psychological damage it would cause to him.
I don't doubt that the government has a job that is almost certainly going to upset many and cause harm to even more. In many instances, they are damned either way. I also have more respect for those whose opinions have real consequences than those of us harking from the sidelines whose opinions have no impact one way or another. Having said that, there is repeated evidence of the scientific advice pointing in a certain direction, and the government choosing either to delay following it or to continue deliberately down the opposite path before eventually following it.
