Yeah like I said I think we should do 3 weeks but as a halfway house go six weeks and that'd be an improvement.

I see no issue with using AZ over longer time as it's been tested.

neither do I, though them reading "4-12 weeks" or even "8-12 weeks" as "12 weeks" is a bit much

just tried out the queue calculator here https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/vaccine-queue-uk

Probably different times for different areas but it gives me an idea when I can expect a letter for the jab
Not sure on the uptake rate though as they based this on the flu job, I think loads will have this that didn't have the flu one

Result:
Based on your profile, you are in priority Group 8, and there are between 15,580,035 and 18,693,495 people in front of you in the queue for a first dose of COVID vaccine across the UK.
Given a vaccination rate of 2,645,401 a week and an uptake of 70.6%, you should expect to receive your first dose of vaccine between 23/04/2021 and 10/05/2021.

You should then get your second dose by between 16/07/2021 and 02/08/2021.
I checked in early Jan or around Xmas and my first dose was September.

That's it now...

Lets face it, we have never ever had to do this, so no one really knows.

I am a simple fella, but the fact that 1 dose of AZ improves things, so getting the max number of folk at that makes sense to me.

I can see that, but the important thing here is that we are trying to vaccinate our way out of this, and protect the most vulnerable - and to do that we need the second dose numbers to go up, by a lot.

We could have done everyone (2.2 million) on the shielded patient list by now, for example and be seeing the 80 and above group getting their second doses; instead we aren't yet a quarter of the way through the most vulnerable.

Of course we all want as many people to get vaccinated as soon as possible (I know how happy I was to hear my dad has an appointment), but its got to be done right.

Just done mine again....

Nice, good that it reduces the gap based on age too.

My dad is 15th Feb to 5th March too. He's 65, no underlying conditions but has had COPD in the past.

Hopefully that stays on track!

Just done @davek ...

Given a vaccination rate of 2,645,401 a week and an uptake of 70.6%, you should expect to receive your first dose of gnats piss between 20/02/2024 and 05/03/2026

You should then get your second dose when hell freezes over.....

surprised you've not had a letter yet pete, you should be in a higher group than my dad is (based on the medical info you've shared on here)

But do you actually see the number 12 in both the ranges you quote...do you believe a range can be given yet the upper number not applicable......are you sure you are a finance director......

I imagine the uptake will be much more than 70% only for I think a lot of people are fully expecting vaccine passports to become a thing and wont want to run the risk of not being able to get to a concert/jet away in the summer

That finance director statement was a joke based on that "mate" of yours, pete - sorry it went above your head.

As for the rest, at the risk of thanking you for pointing it out, yes; the drug firms gave ranges. The government picked the very far end of the range. That was the point.

Apparently our area only started just over two weeks ago, I think they’ve been doing the hardest hit areas first, but they’ve done all the over 80’s and care homes, the over 75’s are ongoing and probably the over 70’s by next week or the week after. The wife and I are in group 5 I believe, but the GP knows and will sort us out....strangely though I had a call from the GP practice asking if I had been suffering any angina type conditions recently which I haven’t......
