But listening to the news here it sounds like the Governments in London Dublin and Belfast were all taken by surprise. A real shambles.

Why is the leader of a country failing with its vaccination programme concerned about how a country that has done 12% of its population decides its strategy. He is embarrassed by what he has not done and hopes a bit of Brit bashing will get him off the hook...it won’t.....

They're not failing. They're part of a bloc of countries who have procurred vaccines to roll out in the timely manner and fashion they were designed to be rolled out in. The UK approach is like the story of the Hare and the Tortoise. Make no mistake, the EU will get this vaccine right and the fools in charge of this country will bollocks up our vaccine roll out. Nothing surer than that. Just look at how many their decisions have killed already.

Figures for the day are finally in

Hospital figures - 868 deaths were announced today, down 203 on yesterday and down 302 on last Friday. 744 deaths were in English hospitals, down 163 on yesterday and down 249 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 884.29

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 1245 deaths were announced today, up 6 on yesterday and down 156 on last Friday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 1198.57

For the 60 day cut off, 1372 deaths were announced today, up 35 on yesterday and down 156 on last Friday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 1300.86

There are two issues. Dealing with the pandemic and delivering the vaccines. We cocked up the first one, but we are playing a blinder on the second. The EU didn’t get involved on the first one and left it to individual countries, they then spectacularly scored several own goals in the second, and keep putting them in.....
