It’s only over the last 7 days...Italy have almost exactly the same death rate since the beginning as the U.K......
Didn’t they get it a month before us though? So has even less time to prepare and it hit them really hard at the beginning?

then we’ve slowly caught up?

Hospital figures - 577 deaths were announced today, down 202 on yesterday and up 51 on last Monday. 532 deaths were in English hospitals, down 99 on yesterday and up 43 on last week. The 7 day rolling average rises to 882.86

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 599 deaths were announced today, down 72 on yesterday and up 70 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 1128.57

For the 60 day cut off, 615 deaths were announced today, down 99 on yesterday and up 65 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 1218.71

But hold on, you started out asking whether cycling is essential and put up walking as an example of what fits that bill. Walking isn't essential for exercise and neither is cycling. But they are both permissable and even advocated.

Do you think - in your haste to be a smart Alec (again) - you've slightly over-reached here and made a bit of a fool, out of yourself (again)?

I never said walking was essential.

Try again.

You’re always super quick to judge other people’s actions as not being “essential”, while simultaneously doing something which is not in any way essential. Hypocritical. And you hate being pulled up on it as you know it’s true, hence your childish jibe about me not needing to exist.

Please explain how riding a bike is essential in a pandemic.

Using the budget up from a contract which has bad specifications.........
Usually from a bad council or client - no such thing as a bad contractor if the client is stupid enough not to regulate of specify it correctly - this is where money is wasted ......all over in every industry too many managers cooking the broth ........every big industry unfortunatley.....,
They should retrain the gardeners to administer the vaccine and use the budget that way. These gardening types tend to have a good eye so wouldn't miss your arm when thrusting the needle at you.

...earlier...
What would you deem essential exercise?

NHS recommendation is 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week. Brisk walking included.

You are utterly bankrupt.

But cycling for exercise is.

There is an obvious solution for anyone wanting to enjoy some exercise riding their bike, and can be done safely in your garden, depending on how proficient your turning circle skills are. @davek

If that looks a bit boring just ride to the nearest roundabout, if there is one legally within your limit, and ride around that for half an hour or so. You'd get the full traffic buzz with that approach.

Thank you for proving my statement ?
I asked you what was essential exercise, then you responded with NHS recommendations to that effect and mentioned walking...then you rowed back and said you never claimed walking was essential.

Make your mind up.

No, I told you what the NHS advises, which is 150 minutes of exercise. You can in fact do that without ever leaving your house. You’re the one who is saying what is and isn’t essential, not me.

You’re twice as likely to end up seriously injured cycling on the road as you are walking. But you think that risk of burdening the NHS is acceptable apparently. During a pandemic. All the while criticising everybody else.

The fact that you deem your bike riding for exercise more essential than filling in potholes is frankly bizarre.

...in response to my request for you to advise me what 'essential exercise' was. If it wasn't in response to that, it's just a random series of words you threw together.

Anyway, let's leave it at that and not prolong the agony for you (and others who dont want to read it).

Ignoring direct questions is a bit poor really.

I’ll ask again though, in case you missed it.

Do you deem your cycling for exercise essential during a pandemic ?
