Well, kinda. But the grass isnt normal grass, its meadow grass they make straw out of.

And the trees are all apple trees, which are 60 years old, and basically knackered. "Trimming" really means getting rid, if I had my way. Mrs R goes all earth mother about them though.

Will up her meds and see if she goes delirious again.
Hay FFS x

How wide are the apple tree trunks?

The UK now has the highest death rate from Covid-19 of any country in the world, the latest data has revealed.

An average of 935 daily deaths in the UK over the last week was the equivalent of more than 16 people in every million dying each day from coronavirus.

Figures compiled by University of Oxford-based research platform Our World in Data show that no other country matches the UK’s per capita rate of deaths.

The UK overtook the Czech Republic, which had held the top spot since 11 January, after the government published the latest coronavirus deaths on Sunday night.

The weekend’s figures tend to be lower due to a lag in reporting, meaning the number of new daily deaths in the UK will likely rise once again when new figures are announced on Monday.

A further 671 Covid-19 deaths recorded on Sunday brings the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus in the UK to 89,261.

This is the highest cumulative death toll in Europe and ranks only behind the US, Brazil, India and Mexico globally – all of which countries have far higher populations.

The UK has experienced more than 3.4 million confirmed infections, the equivalent of one in every 20 people.

Max Roser, a University of Oxford researcher and the founder of Our World in Data, said other countries took quicker and more decisive action in the early stages of the pandemic.

Italy and France have done well then compared to us haven’t they.

Im not sure what you mean.

You were criticising workmen for doing non essential work. Cycling for exercise also isn’t essential. Nowhere did I say cycling wasn’t a good form of exercise.

Im simply pointing out you aren’t upholding your own standards. Of only doing the “essential”.

Riding a bike is inherently more dangerous than walking, and you are therefore more likely to end up in a crash and wasting valuable NHS resources, for what is non essential activity. Walking would keep you perfectly healthy while minimising risk to the health service.
But hold on, you started out asking whether cycling is essential and put up walking as an example of what fits that bill. Walking isn't essential for exercise and neither is cycling. But they are both permissable and even advocated.

Do you think - in your haste to be a smart Alec (again) - you've slightly over-reached here and made a bit of a fool, out of yourself (again)?

@davek Have you seen this Dave! Consulting our resident expert, Joey, has left me suspicious that whoever it was using those lawnmowers clearly had no respect for our grass and are most likely Tory voting rotters!
The worst council cash wise was a Tory council for being tight with money, but the councils that provided great services were Labour, but very wasteful with funds ......The best council I worked for was a Lib Lab Coalition......they were very efficient plus spent the funds sensibly.....as for the NHS too many chiefs not enough Indians as the saying goes in all massive organisations -
My cousin has just died of Covid - 19 - aged 62 - hospital full - can't blame the NHS but the person who decided families could mix over Christmas i.e. The Governments of the UK ......me personally stayed inside our bubble .....with myself shielding .......
They keep referring to commonsense when they lack it themselves.......
