Thank you. In all honesty, there hasn’t been a close relative, but we’re talking acquaintances from work, football or the pub, or their families etc.

If we’re talking about people who’ve had it, I think the number is spiralling by the week.
Yeah mate I understand, I was just after genuine answers like this to make it half make sense to me.

Again sorry for your losses mate, wasn’t a slight or a dig in an sense. Even though some seem to think that.

Same I know a lot who have had it, and more so lately, just fatality wise no one.

All the best mate .

Can anyone tell me when this New Lockdown comes into force ?

Picked up meds for the wife yesterday and essential groceries this morning.
Car parks are full , roads busy.
Everywhere just looks normal to me.

South end of Liverpool that is.

I think the fear factor has gone for a lot of people. I said before walked my dog and when I got to the park couldnt believe how busy it was - absolutely full to the rafters of parents walking with their kids on scooters/bikes no parking spaces anywhere to be found.

I never wear a mask outdoors but if I had it on me would have definitely put it on. First time I've felt uneasy throughout the pandemic tbh.

Yeah it’s like the people aren’t believe if all they hear in the media..... strange.

Am I not allowed to question what I see and hear on the news of it dosent add up to me, im not saying I am right either by the way, just merely questioning something that doesn’t quite add up to me.

I haven’t come to this thought process on my own either, I’ll be honest 80% of the people I speak to are of the same thought process possibly more.

I have at least 6 people around me who are on the NHS, 1 doctors, 2 nurses and porters, and they haven’t exactly made the doubts any better.

like I said before, I’m not in anyway denying it is there, it’s obvious it is. But something isn’t right.
Fair enough... Using the word dubious made me think you belong to the nutcase/conspiracy fringe...

At 80k deaths it's about 1 in 800 people, so still statistically probable that you won't know anyone. Especially when you're young, and the majority of people you know are not in the high risk category

Indeed. Possibly the most incorrect tweet of all time.

Well done Keir!

... seriously, the most sheltered, privileged pensioners in the country getting the jab before literally anyone else in this country in their age range sickens me.
There will be a lot of old people out there that will be unsure if the vaccine is safe, due to all the anti-vax claptrap they hear about.

Hearing that Doris from Birmingham or Fred from Carlisle had the jab is not going to assure those people it is safe.

Hearing that the Queen has had it, will.

So if the queen gets the jab early, and it helps persuade others to get it too, then that is fine by me

Always been reasonably satisfied we've done everything to keep us safe.
Maybe over the top at times , but now I look around and apart from the obvious like pubs closed and find it tough accepting people just dont give a monkeys .
Ffs they're still making cars in Halewood , thousands of workers still turning up.

This aint no Lockdown.

Looks like a long harsh winter.

The majority of older people in Britain (especially England) do tend to be big fans of the monarchy, especially the Queen, so it is probably a positive thing for the sake of a few vaccines. The YouGov poll below shows that favourability for the Queen in over 65s is 93%.

Now I am sure the majority of the older population are probably keen to take the vaccine anyway but if it encourages more people to take it than the number of vaccines used on the Queen and Phillip then it is worth it. Plus, they are both in their 90's and Phillip seems to nearly die every couple of months so they qualify for it anyway.

I don't understand why we need to convince anybody to take the vaccine surely it's personal choice.
If anyone decides not to take it they go to the back of the line and give it to the next person in the queue.
Surely if I take it and my next door neighbour doesn't it's no skin of my nose

All while the rates in the City Region are spiralling out of control, with Halton the worst increase in the country over the past week - 248 to 996. Knowlsey is 2nd.

With increased numbers of those who can work and restriction fatigue, it's not surprising we're here even though scientists are requesting more restrictions.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a swell of new COVID fines over the next week or two.
