I don't expect our schools to open until late August. Leaving Cert probably be delayed until then or later and Junior Cert cancelled. They'll do what they can online and maybe in very small groups until then.
They won't postpone the leaving cert, colleges will need to know results for places next year, I'd say classrooms in schools will all become mini exam centres maybe 2 or 3 students in each... and a few more in the usual exam centre. The JC could very well be cancelled.

I just don't get the mentality of hoarding. If everyone just carried on getting their normal weekly shop then there would be plenty for everyone as there was before the virus hit.

It is simple - these people are selfish self- centred individualists who reject any notion of community solidarity.

The type that would trample a small amount child into the ground to get to a lifeboat .

Thankfully therd are still many very decent people about too.

Thanks Blue.

Getting ready for my retirement I had a large insulated garage built and bought a 1989 Merc 300SE and 1978 Rover SD1 V8 this year.

Both from same classic car dealer in Dublin. 58k on Merc and just over 41k on SD1.

Loads of paperwork and provenance. SD1 is particularly interesting in terms of its history.

Managed one organised small club run on 8th March but sadly that may be it for the year as CV sweeps everything away
Everyone is out looking for 40 year old cars and you’re buying them up and hoarding them in your shed... monster!

What have they done?

Been without internet for a week now, and they're their usual incompetent self in fixing it. The most frustrating thing is the complete lack of accountability, as BT are the only point of contact you have, and they're all very sorry etc. but can literally do nothing about Openreach, who you have no contact with. It's an awful setup. Utterly awful.

Going to a meeting in hospital now- it will either be really useful, or it will just be how to gown up in protective gear before operating.
Not exciting, but all non-emergency surgery to stop before April 15th. Obviously caesareans and cancer work continue. Theatres being converted to intensive care units. Certain staff to be retrained as ITU staff.
Hopefully some of the antivirals will be of proven use soon. Evidence isn't 100%, but avoid anti-inflammatories such as brufen.
My juniors may be taken to cover other areas.

No the idea of taking her keys was that if she left she could not get back in
She is too security conscious to leave a door or side gate open
Back door key is still in the door so she can go into the garden
Plus with 5 of us ringing every day plus grandkids ringing she would be caught out if she left

This make sense. I was concerned about the possibility of someone being locked in with no keys to get out.

All good.
