How are gyms and schools still open in Merseyside? What an absolute disgrace. Closing a few pubs in January when they are dead isn't solving the problem is it?

There's no evidence that gyms help spread it now.

They're all really well maintained from a cleaning standard. The lengths that they have had to go to just to open ensures that.

They're all socially distanced, half of the equipment shut off etc.

Just fed up of people actively wanting us to be locked inside for three months.

Bloke who works for the council was telling my dad that's what needed to happen yesterday - everyone locked inside, no allowances.

Irony is, this bloke - and my dad - were sat in a steam room at the gym.

My dad just said "what are you doing in here then?"

Alright for pencil pushers isn't it. Get that sweet furlough.

It defies logic to keep gyms open. Indoor training spaces with people breathing heavily and touching equipment will result in transmissions. Some gyms will be better than others but even the good ones wont be risk free. I know someone who reckons he caught the disease at a gym. Right now we need a lockdown. It's already spiralling out of control and the repercussions of Christmas are still a few weeks away. Death tolls will eclipse those of the first wave. If the vaccination process goes as well as it can, all we have to do is hold out another month or so.

Kinda my thoughts that.

Indeed, it's pretty ludicrous the claims made that they are safe

Except all common sense ever.

Do you know how hard it is to pin down exactly where transmission took place.

Someone can go the gym, catch it there, be asymptomatic for five days, 'suddenly' catch it and they'll put it down to a workplace or whatever.

The idea gyms are safe during a viral pandemic that relies on transmission via aerosol is ludicrous. It's about as stupid as believing kids can't catch or spread it.

I see the vaccine maker Pfizer is being ignored by an obviously politicised MHRA.

Oh dear.
Very worrying.

Incredibly they are going to neutralise the vaccines.

The fact we have an opposition party who dont challenge it - probably because the idea for it was also mooted by their ex leader - is an utter disgrace.
