No mate you’re wrong. They made an error during the development and trialling process. The error they made was to only issue a half dosage in the first vaccine then followed it up with a full dose second. This error turned out to be a very fortuitous one as they found that these two combined levels (half followed by a full) dosage gave upto 90% efficacy.

It doesn’t need special refrigeration, it’s cheap so I’d say it’s a success.

Also it should be noted that the Oxford team set out to develop a vaccine for the world (affordable and transportable). So they were operating under a greater level of requirements than the other developers.

The number in the sub-group who took the small-large dosage isn't safe to draw form conclusions on - also the ages of those in that sub-group were young.

Aye concerns exist about the number of older people tested in phase 1 and 2. Phase 3 results are now being made available and they show that it was given to some 1400 people aged 55 and over in Brazil and U.K. and the results show a strong immune response in that age group with 70-90% efficacy.

This particular vaccine will help so many people across the world. Of all of them I’d say this one is the most important.
