I've decided to journal in here in for reference.

Day 1

I feel physically better but it is not a good day for me mentally. I walk past people on the street and all I think is they are already dead and they just don't want realise it yet.

Time is short but I need time to reconvene. I spent the last of my money on flour, mini cheddars and 3 pieces of fried chicken.

There is a solemn atmosphere in the streets of Tooting. Even the Jamaican homeless man who drinks special brew and shouts at the buses watches them pass without comment.

I heard the woman in Sainsburys behind the fish counter say they weren't getting another delivery after tomorrow, I don't know if that is fish or more but it doesn't node well.

My work phoned me today but I didn't the answer. I know I'm not capable of talking to them without revealing my disgust for the little value they have for human lives.

Public services appear to be running although this is the first time London does not feel rushed. Everything is moving slower, not with calm but with a trudge.

There were 2 separate police car chases past my window last night. I think the nights will become a lot busier in this regard soon and wonder if they will be augmented with army units soon.

Tonight I will have a tin of beer and the little of my whisky I have left. I will read my book and escape this world for a couple of hours and hope to be stronger tomorrow and make some plans for the days to come.

Not sure if thise numbers include the one from Scotland and one from Wales today (the Minister got it wrong yesterday).

But pretty much everyone in the UK who have died, were pretty poorly anyrate.
I don't think they were all pretty poorly although some of them will have been. They have all, I believe, been classed as higher risk though, so elderly or underlying medical conditions, which may have been everyday things such as high blood pressure or diabetes or asthma.

I do think keeping these people out of harms way is the best way to keep the mortality rate down and lessen the burden on our health service. That's easier said than done though as a lot of the elderly have that old fashioned bulldog spirit and won't do as they're told. I know if my father in law was still with us he'd do the exact opposite of what he was told.:)

....a 2nd death in Wales also today.

These numbers, though, need to be equated to the expected no of deaths. Today’s Select Committee were told 8k per year is the normal yearly flu death toll, “if we can keep the number of deaths from this virus below 20,000, we’ll have done well.”

Expect the numbers to rise significantly and rapidly.

Indeed. What I meant really. Point still stands though, if 25m folk get it, the chances of the death rate being anywhere near to the same as 69 High Risk folk are pretty slim.
