There isn't even a lockdown. "Hospitality" is shut (sort of), some retail is shut. That's it.

What a 'kin palaver.

"We cant celebrate Christmas. What would Jesus say if he knew we couldn't shop for gear and get legless at Christmas, have a party with loads of people and stuff our faces with turkey?. He'd be furious. Whaa whaa whaa!!!".

Yeah, cos thats all that is happening.

Non essential travel, WFH, no visiting, face masks, restrictions on numbers in shops/what you can buy, social distancing, no theatres/gigs/shows/cinemas, no fans at any sporting events.

Dead normal.

Mate that says the ones who can't have the vaccine have no immune system!

If you can't have the vaccine then there is deeper issues with your health than covid.
Which is why I said those that can have the vaccine should have it.

The more people vaccinated then the better protected everyone is.

I think he was maybe comparing this lockdown to March's lockdown. Of your list, only the bold things were possible during the Summer, everything else has been like that since March.

Yes but if you have no immune system then chances are you are very sick or have another condition that potentially can kill you.

It's not quite the same as someone just refusing the vaccine lol

He said only some shops are closed, and hospitality is "sort of" shut.

Thats bollox.

I’ll be going to a funeral this week for a lad I knew who hung himself two days after this second lockdown, sorry second lot of “ minor restrictions” came into place.

I accept that clearly he had some mental health problems already but they were massively exacerbated by the lockdown measures; something which he spoke about with people close to him. Maybe if he was as mentally “tough” as some of the posters in here I guess he’d be alright; but for anyone to claim that there’s hardly a lockdown is an absolute disgrace.

Or it feels more normal? We didnt have to wear masks in March, we do now.

Nah I'd say open to me. Like back in March/April etc. you'd go outside on your daily exercise or trip to the shop and you wouldn't see a soul, the country felt dead. You'd hear a neighbours door open in the evening and be like "oo where are they going?".

Now though there are still so many people on the streets, people outside doing things, just feels more relaxed.

Christmas will be wild, cases will rocket again, hard lockdown January.
Its an option that might well happen. All the sensible people will be sensible, all the DHs will run true to form...the few spoiling it for the many as always.
Which is usually only a minor transient problem...but they will spread it to others

Yeh unfortunately within a pandemic the minority actually massively impacts the majority for once.

The major difference is the schools being open.

I agree though, it does feel more relaxed, less unusual, ergo, more normal. Witness no panic buying this time, cos folk know the shops can cope.

After a while, I am sure that kipping in an underground station became more normal in the war.
