Cinemas were open, theatres were open, some gigs were trialled.

Tenet took around £20m in UK box office takings over the summer. Even at £15 a pop that’s 1.3m going to the cinema to see that alone.

I think it makes a difference if you work normally as you are still out of the house a lot. When you work from home and you're in the house for 23 hours a day every day of the week that makes it a lot more noticeable and the restrictions feel much more significant.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be for some people, particularly those who live alone and/or have mental health issues.

That option might not be there next year because you've gone to see them this year.

What about the effect that not seeing family could have on elderly people over Christmas after most of the year not seeing them?

People who simply refuse the vaccine put the other group at more risk is the point I was trying to make.

What about the possibility of killing said elderly people by seeing them over Christmas? Don't know about you but I wouldn't want that on my conscience.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be for some people, particularly those who live alone and/or have mental health issues.

Food shops, supermarkets, garden centres, hardware stores, building merchants and off-licences, petrol stations, car repair and MOT services, bicycle shops, taxi and vehicle hire businesses, banks, building societies, post offices, loan providers and money transfer businesses, medical services such as dentists, opticians and pharmacies, vets and pet shops, agricultural supplies shops, High Street businesses such as storage facilities, funeral directors, launderettes, dry cleaners, car parks, motorway service stations. Restaurants still do takeaway including alcohol.

Public transprt is operational, schools, colleges and universities still open.

Some pubs are also doing takeaway meals.....I reckon there’s only our place fully closed.....

What if , this is just throwing it out there.

You go and get tested prior to seeing people at Christmas, get a negative result and then pose no risk to people?

I mean they have a test that comes back within half an hour now which probably will be rolled out across the country after this lockdown.

Yeh and if that's a possibility at the time fine but right now, as it stands, I can't just get a test on a whim so it isn't a possibility.
