Oh, what a surprise.

Well I'm doing 2 days a week in a construction office and they're staying open.

However, they have a rota for working from home and there's never more than 3-4 people in the office at once, and all can socially distance as it's not open plan.

Also have to wear a mask when moving around / not sat down etc.

There's a balance to be struck but I couldn't do the job I need to from home as I don't have the tools. So it's either that or this virus costs me another job this year.

What is it you do mate?

I can understand a (minimal) number of people needing to remain in the office for some tasks where collaboration is essential, such as pulling together bids etc, however we have a large number of other staff in our regional office who could just as easily work from home. Multiply this by the 70 or so offices we have in the UK and that's a lot of people continuing to go into the workplace that potentially don't need to in a lockdown situation.

I'm just doing some additional work on tenders for a company I used to work for full-time. I use a fair bit of excel and my Mac doesn't have it, while I'm also not set up on their server and IT support are very faffy when it comes to it being a work computer.

So I do a lot of tendering and bid work so often working with project managers.

I work for an SME though totally understand your concerns if it's a big company! I'm also only in two days a week so I'm limiting the risk.

The net is closing in fast. My wife's workplace (which she just started 2 weeks ago!) have had 4 tests come back positive last week and she wasn't feeling well yesterday so she has just been tested.

It's like a crap version of bullseye...look what you could have won, life. :pHopefully not that bad but I get very bad just with normal flu so we'll have to see what happens if she does return a positive test.

BBC reporting that political leaders will work together on a “joint plan” for Christmas. So;
1. Christmas will be bolloxed
2. Boris is already covering his @rse
3. Some people will end up celebrating the festive season in Turkey. “But I thought you liked Turkey” says Boris, filling his face at Chequers.

Be interesting to find out what these two countries are doing different
“It seems that people living in places such as Slovenia and Denmark have a low probability of death following infection with SARS-CoV-2, even after accounting for the ages of their populations, which is very different to what we’ve seen in New York, for example. There are likely to be fundamental differences in the populations across countries, which might include their underlying health,” said Salje.

It's all an indicator that we are beginning to understand the virus a lot more, which if we can get politicians to actually listen to the scientists would be helpful in tackling it more effectively.

It`s absolutely everywhere now mate, it really is a lottery.

Every week I`m hearing of more and more people that have got it.

You only have to look at the rest of Europe, inc the likes of the Germany, who were hailed as being the big success out of the European nations, to see that it`s spreading at a rapid rate.
