This lockdown has come a month late.

Given it was reported sage advised this back in September, very much so.

The big online retailers are going to be the winners in this. I feel for our small retailers

Amazon will make a killing in the UK , how many people will do their Xmas shopping through them now if they can't get the shops?

Supermarkets will deal with any panic buying just fine. They were superb once they got their systems sorted early days, so will just adjust them now, if needs be.

One good thing is if they announce a quick date on this. That way you eliminate nobheads panic buying and the supermarkets can already have their limits in place to prevent it.

Makes you wonder if that non essential list that was being spread around Facebook on regards to Liverpool was pre planning by Asda for example for this kind of scenario?

It will be called tier 4 restrictions rather than national lockdown. With the aim to move areas back into tier 3 as soon as possible.

I find Morrisons onions are nicer.

They also do nice fish and the best large-retail pitta breads that you can get. If I can't get to Lodge Lane, I will always get my pitta from there.

I must admit it’s the first one I’m looking forward too for years, as there’ll be no parasitic drunken inlaws.

What I've heard on the grapevine is that because Merseyside case rates are already coming down, come the end of this lockdown, the rest of the country will revert to Tier 3 and social mixing between households won't be allowed.

But Merseyside, and, more specifically, the L25 area will be allowed to have a normal Christmas.
