Amazon will make a killing in the UK , how many people will do their Xmas shopping through them now if they can't get the shops?
Supermarkets will deal with any panic buying just fine. They were superb once they got their systems sorted early days, so will just adjust them now, if needs be.
One good thing is if they announce a quick date on this. That way you eliminate nobheads panic buying and the supermarkets can already have their limits in place to prevent it.
Makes you wonder if that non essential list that was being spread around Facebook on regards to Liverpool was pre planning by Asda for example for this kind of scenario?
Press conference is now at 18:30. The knobheads will be sitting around a table trying to come up with a snazzy name to avoid calling it a lockdown.
It will be called tier 4 restrictions rather than national lockdown. With the aim to move areas back into tier 3 as soon as possible.
