They closed everything, even supermarkets, the army delivered food to people, nobody was allowed to leave their houses.

TBF we know so little of what actually happened over there that we can’t really say what they did worked.

The latest surge is due to universities returning and Eat Out to Help Out encouraging people to use public transport etc. Not going to see your grandma in a socially distanced, safe way.

Then why are the vast majority of deaths 70+? Are they often found in Nando’s and Manchester Met uni?

It came about by hospitals sending known COVID infected patients back to care homes.

In conclusion, I havnt a clue how 1/2 million folk are getting infected in a week. We get told its down to household spreads. I just dont buy that. I mean unless I am dead weird or a hermit, I cant remember when we last visited another house, but you get the impression large parts of the country are gleefully cavorting around their neighbourhoods with wild abandon.

Getting back to education establishments and back to the office are safe assumptions, a virus utopia.

Obviously you're well aware. But the point was more generalised around the 'why don't hospitals have more beds, it's because if Tory cuts'.

It's because by and large people recover better at home.

It's not just our country Tim, look at all the other European countries locking down. No one takes delight in doing that but it has to be done.

The trick would be to do it now and not wait any longer for the numbers to get worse. The longer they wait the longer the lockdown period will be, to me this is the most annoying part.

Sadly there's no other options on the table.

There never has been.

France, Spain, Belgium all announced lockdowns, The Uk to follow.

If there were alternatives, I'm sure somebody would have thought of 1 by now.
