But they kept telling people to socially distance throughout. A minority stopped and they took it home and passed it on to their family.

But it's not their fault. Ok

No, they told people to socially distance when they could. There's a world of difference.

They liberalised the rules around covid19 to a point where they were nothing.

I cant believe anyone would defend these murderers.

Half of those are in Merseyside and Greater Manchester who voted Labour and Remain
You're missing the point.

If its your desire to say people who vote labour and Remain are stupid, then ok, but that's not what I said, my point was the complete opposite.

Now you seem to be pushing the tory agenda that the reason the cases are high in The North is cos Northern people are stupid, its a brave stance and I wish you luck with it.

It looks like the cases are falling, which is sound, obvs.

But while not calling anyone stupid, you know as well as I do, that there were gazillions of posts on here a few weeks back reporting a pretty widespread lack of SD and masks in the NW in general.

I recall @davek saying Liverpool were the scallies of the UK.

But its really not important if folk have now got the message. Cos London has copped it bad, so we all know what that will mean.

Happy Christmas. Xx

Its down to the messages from the top.

They lost the people once they changed slogans.

People are dying due to inaction from the top again.

I liked his stance, but Burnham being allowed to dictate to the Government was a complete farce, but by then it was already too late.

France and Germany are locking down, meanwhile we sit idly by while 000s die weekly, just like we did in March.

Can't see how they can look at the situation and think something different will happen this time around. We are short timeframe away from a thousand deaths a day and at that point the lockdown becomes much longer to get the levels back down. Talk about not learning the lesson.

I saw no SD and no masks earlier on.

I said a few times it was a joke.

Anyway, the missus has currently got a sore throat, nothing much and a few other non-covid symptoms, she has had a few people telling her she should be self-isolating in work today. She told her boss and hes said everything is fine. For the record this is about the 10th sore throat and cold she has had this year.

You did.

And like your missus, I, like most, have had the normal winter time coughs and throats we have never really noticed before. Check, double check, triple check the website, then get a runny nose, which is about the only symptom of winter crap that deffo isnt Covid!

Had an upset tummy the other day. Sake, that could be a symptom apparently. Then needed a very quick bathroom visit as a result; deffo hadnt lost my sense of smell, so all good.

I called the whole country stupid.

Only tories wish to portray the North alone as stupid.

The message that this is all "our" fault is 1 that came straight from Tory HQ, its not "our" fault, its theirs.

Goat. I'm not the one saying we are in the covid position we are in because people are thick. You are. I'm actually saying you are wrong.

And whilst you say now that the whole country is thick, you actually qualified that earlier by saying the thick voted Tory and Brexit. All I did was point out that this didn't correlate with the areas that are currently in Tier 3.

You are now trying to politicize it by calling me a Tory and anti North. That is below the belt , even for you.

I'm not anti anything really other than those that don't follow the social distancing rules. I couldn't give a toss whether they're from the North or the South, young or old, British or foreign, white or ethnic, Labour or Tory. All that bothers me is that their foolish belief that the rules don't apply to them is the reason that the country is back in the situation we are in.

Why people like you are so obviously protecting them I'll never understand. I can probably show you a 100+ posts in here where I've been critical of the governments handling of this pandemic. And the vast majority of the UK population have behaved fantastically in doing what they can and following the rules despite suffering many hardships along the way. But the selfish few are ruining it for everybody.

I now live in Cornwall but all my family and friends still live in and around Liverpool. Cornwall is one of the least effected areas from covid and I put that down to us having a smaller percentage of selfish people living around here than there are in other parts of the country. But I'm still affected by what is going on up in Liverpool. I have a sister and her family who were all poorly with it. A brother who's just come out of chemo for leukemia who had an amazing escape when 3 of his friends he had a drink with all caught it and one of them died. And a best mate who lost his mother and 3 Aunties to the virus in the space of 4 months.

So stop with the points scoring please. I'm not a Tory and I don't hate the North.

100% right with this,

I know people who are still at their parents houses all the time, despite the fact that their parents are slap bang in the at risk group, both for age and medical conditions.

One of them was at a wake this week with her mum, which was attended by 60 at the house of the deceased.

It was in an area of Liverpool where no one would ever grass.

This is why it’s spreading, not pubs or restaurants.
Wasn’t Tuesday was it. The crowds outside Anfield crem about 4:30 were ridiculous.had to be 40 crowded around the gate and loads more in the garden. I was thinking they may as well pitch a tent and wait a couple of weeks to save on the hearse

I'm not defending anybody Dave. Socially distance "when they could" related to public transport and certain workplaces where social distancing was difficult. It did not relate to pubs, bars cafes, restaurants or any other leisure activities.

I'm calling people out for selfishly breaking the rules. They don't break the rules then the chances are they don't catch it and take it home and pass it on to their family. It isn't rocket science.

The funeral was in Tuesday and was at Anfield crem, but I think it was in the morning.

So that’s two funerals on Tuesday in that area where they’ve just carried on as regardless !
