Mate, c'mon, stop putting us young adults to shame with nonsense like this. Sounding like a stupid child here.
There is of course a virus. I don't dispute that.
Are the restrictions such as banning frying pans needed, though?
No, they aren't. No government should have a right to say what is not and what is essential when it boils down to what's in a shop. It's 2020, fgs.
I can accept not doing anything - you know, pub or whatever. Working loads anyway atm so it doesn't impact me. We can all deal with it.
But some of the restrictions we're seeing across Europe now are just dead weird. A 6pm curfew/shutdown in Italy, I believe (or certain regions).
This has been going on, on and off, for seven months. It's not right not to have another solution, yet I'm sure a vaccine will magically be here by spring.
Look at what's benefitting. Look at comments in recent BJ speeches about 'digital identity', and the 'green economy' which is being pushed by plenty of world leaders.
It's a good thing in a lot of ways, but this virus is definitely being used as a way of bringing certain things into place that beforehand would not have been there.
Transforming industry - a massive push to cyber etc - being an example of this.
You can say all that and then acknowledge there is a virus here and to a lot of people it can be serious.
150 deaths recorded in the UK today. Think the highest it's been since May is around the 250 mark (just a quick look at the google graph).
Once we get through the next few months there is absolutely no reason for stuff to keep on being shut down / under curfew.
