  • It wasn't contained to just Wuhan. It covered every region in China.
  • China has a centralised epidemic response system
  • They have understanding of similar Pandemic response - Sars-Cov isn't that long ago.
  • They entirely locked down Wuhan for nearly 80 days.
  • They acted quickly to put very strict measures in place - restrictions on public transport, household movements, gatherings. Schools were closed or openings delayed.
  • They already had mountains of PPE and an ability to quickly make more.
  • They had thousands of testing sites across public transport infrastructure
  • They undertook massive amounts of testing and enforced isolation.
  • They massively increased need capacity in Fangcang hospitals so that isolation didn't occur at home. Additionally, they have a very low percentage of people living in care homes. And they don't have particularly high rates of obesity.
  • Since then, they've put very strict measures in place to limit the virus reoccurring and very restrictive measures on entry into the country to stop isolated infection.

They also 100% lied about their stats too.

Also rule of 6 still applies to Liverpool.

So despite the red warning light doomsday scenario of the dreaded tier 3, we can still gather on groups of 6 outside of the home as long as we are good little boys and girls and keep out distance.

Isn't encouraging people to meet in groups the kinda opposite of trying to keep people apart?

The reason why they have that in place is there is significant evidence that the virus doesn't seem to spread outdoors. They have found very few cases of the virus passing outdoors.

Its getting a lot colder so its unlikely a lot of outdoor meeting will be going on in a few weeks anyway.

The rule of 6 applies to indoor environments as well fella.

Not just outside.

It applies in places such as pubs as well, given how evil they are based on Liverpool's rules.

No it doesn't.

Unless you live with and/or are in a support bubble with someone you can't be with anyone else in any indoors setting (home, restaurant etc.)

Thanks for this, you do a great job of keeping the Covid data going.

For the other posters, The number of deaths registered in the UK in the week ending 2 October 2020 (Week 40) was 11,444, which was 591 deaths higher than the five-year average and 583 deaths higher than Week 39; of the deaths registered in the UK in Week 40, 343 deaths involved COVID-19.....

Burnham needs to stick to his guns and oppose the lockdown. There is no such thing as a sustainable lockdown.
We can do it for the banks £850 billion, we can support the small business and the people they employ, only £250 billion so far some catching up...

That is Liverpool.

Not the rest of the country who can very much meet up in groups of 6 in the open pubs.

But the poster was referring to Liverpool???

Rule of 6 indoors only applies to Tier 1 places.

We (Tier 2) also can't meet up indoors unless in household/bubble. Only time Rule of 6 applies to us (Tier 2) is in private/public gardens, beaches, parks etc.

I was referring to anywhere but Liverpool

As sky news had the info wrong on the first place

When its all drilled down, its essentially pubs being closed that effects most folk. Like, day to day.

Restaurants and bars and cafes etc being closed then has a massive knock on effect to the suppliers of the produce. They then don't require anything from their farmers, growers, brewers etc.

The economy is a cycle. When one industry is shut, there is a bit of a vicious circle effect. You can't just turn the economy on and off like a tap, it doesn't work like that.
