if people look at the fact why have tory spiv constituencies escaped any restrictions ? , could this be because they are affluent middle class areas with higher opportunities in health , education , life span , think about it its the same old song from the tories

Lockdowns hurt the least well off the most. They need to be avoided at all costs and Burnham needs to fight against it.

We can't shut down vast swathes of the economy and expect it to have no effect. All this is bringing so much misery to people's lives.

There's a narrative in some quarters that the harder a lockdown you support, the more you care. But its just not true. Businesses hung on through the first shutdown but another one will finish them off. There's not much of an economy left in Britain if we lose our small businesses.

Which areas that are Tory have higher cases than those in elevated levels of restriction ?

Genuine question.

For the other posters, The number of deaths registered in the UK in the week ending 2 October 2020 (Week 40) was 11,444, which was 591 deaths higher than the five-year average and 583 deaths higher than Week 39; of the deaths registered in the UK in Week 40, 343 deaths involved COVID-19.....

OK pete, of those 11,444, how many were DIRECTLY attributable to Covid-19? We know that these figures include people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days, because that is spouted every night on the news. By that I mean, how many were from heart attacks or heart -related diseases; how many were from incurable cancers; how many were accidents; how many were murders, etc.? You see I listen to the news each day saying 'X' number have died, including those who have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days, but we are NOT told how many deaths were 100% outwith Covid-19 actually killling them. Perhaps you have that info. Or are the Government statisticians simply masking the true picture of directly related deaths by lumping every death together in a single figure? I don't have the answer - do you?

I said the other day why didn't they lock down the northwest rather than single Liverpool out for this tier 3 nonsense . I said it made no sense for them to single one city out when they kept referring to the region.

Within 3 days they want to do the same to Lancashire and Manchester.

I don't always chat wham you know......
