It wasn't used last time either when there was capacity issues.

Makes you wonder why they built it if they were going to leave hospitals full.
Because they didn’t have the staff to man them. They were massive white elephants

An average U.K. general hospital has 1,000 beds and 10x that number of staff.

How many 4,000 bed hospitals are there in the U.K.?

None.

Hospitals wanting to move patients to the Nightingales were told to send staff with them ffs. They were nothing but a PR exercise that didn’t get used as intended as they didn’t have the bodies to do it.

Utter bollocks! In reality it a lot less.
Any death within 28 days of testing positive is a covid death regardless of any other severe health issues.

That’s just ill informed twaddle, that can be proven to be exactly that by providing you with the excess deaths statistics, which you can’t explain away with BS.

There’s been over 53,000 excess deaths since March

This thread has been painful for some time as the number of idiots has risen. I blame YoboTwatFace for giving them someone to aim for.

That and the usual NHS ’We are at breaking point!’ rung hollow as ever.

When are we supposed to find out about any new restrictions/lockdowns? This week?
Officially tomorrow. I'd expect the news to be leaked today though.

Hopefully by Wednesday Merseyside at least will be in lockdown in terms of the hosiptality sector. That's not enough though. And it'll be gradually returned to full lockdown, IMO, by beginning of next month.

They weren't at breaking point last spring because the government took the decision to seal up care homes and make the weak and the elderly die there instead.

FFS, have you got short term memory disorder?

Cheers Dave. I was driving through my home town last night and it was like the last days of Rome. Think everyone was expecting the world to end today.

Pubs will be closed but restaurants and cafes, including those who sell alcohol, will more likely face some restrictions. Everything else will be the same.

Fake News. People from care homes were still being sent to hospital.

There's reports of care homes grabbing COVID discharges because they'd get paid £1500 for taking them in. I notice your ire at people making money didn't extend to the scumbags running that sector.

The initial clearance of wards was carried out on the orders of the NHS Chief exec too - https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-nhs-hospital-discharges-deaths-a9544671.html

Badly run organisations getting away with murder.

Why let the facts get in the way of a blind agenda ?
