If people have ME and are suffering from lethargy and muscle weakness, does it make M.E. not real because those symptoms are also shared by people who had pneumonia?

You're creating friction against Long Covid - an established illness now - just because you want to portray this virus as one that purely affects the old and therefore there's a compelling case for leaving everywhere open. 66,000 people (mostly of a younger under 60s age group) will tell you that's wrong.
Or it is pneumonia which is triggering around 15% of the time (based on a small study from China so not the exact number since) in patients leading to hospital admissions and longer term effects.

So it's basically a lockdown without being named a lockdown.

This is gonna happen more regularly IMO, stop and start to see what works because I suppose the damage is more manageable than the two big options - full lockdown or herd immunity.

Here's an interesting insight into drs lobbing for herd measures - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/health-54442386

The bottom line though - one kills the economy till it's pretty much unable to recover. One kills loads more people.
This government back in late March / early April stated that would is the plan: lockdown and release on a regular basis. Some people (understandably given the tons of utter BS that come from the mouths of senior ministers) may have forgotten that.

So are the boozers shutting?

Only if you live in the central populated belt of Scotland. But it's bound to be coming here too unfortunately.

And I say unfortunately as it could have worked with the right rules in place, timed slots that are upheld and landlords making sure people are following the guidelines. But they didn't. The kicking out time of 10 was a dumb move also.

Why don't they allow 2 slots? 12-3 and 5-8 stops all day boozing sessions

If they shut them this month can't see them opening again until the spring

Possible I suppose allows a good wipedown in between. The last pub I went to had a 3 hour window that you could be served in but they served all through the day. In fact both pubs i went to that day I sat outdoors and it wasn't crowded at all so felt safe. But that probably is the case for the lower population towns (mine is sub 50k).

Of course the weather was nice back then too. In winter you are going to have to be indoors and people are likely going to have coughs and sneezels. Unless you can travel with a fishbowl on your head that has a slot to put your pint up through it is going to be risky.
