Lol.

I knew you’d come back with that.

It’s not the same thing and you know it.

You’re advocating the targeting of a specific age group ( the elderly ) and forcibly making them remain indoors whether they want to or not “ for their own good “

Maybe put them in one of those re education camps that don't exist whilst we’re at it for “ their own good “ too.
No, I'm advocating that the hospitality sector especially locks down to make any venture outside their home that elderly and vulnerable people make is less dangerous because of high infection rates. I dont think it wise for them to be in restaurants and pubs and they should be getting texting messages to tell them that...which they would be if we had a government that were worthy of the name.

You're reading what you want to be there and setting up a straw man. Again.

But you wouldn't stop all of that in my scenario. You would have the treatment still , the contact with others still , just from home where they are safe.

So there would be emphasis on their contacts being safe yes like there is now, carers and whatnot aren't strolling in without ppe and licking everything

It keeps them safe and alive, it allows others who aren't at risk of dying to get the country running and best of all, minimises the impact of covid .
This virus doesn't stand outside fom the person it infects while they visit the old and vulnerable.

What's the faff? We've been out a few times since things have re-opened (for meals, not drinks), and you give your details at the door and put your face covering on if you go to the loo. Not much else is any different? Same with cafes. The actual act of consuming your food/drink isn't any different?
It sounds minor but it’s just one of those things that knocks the enjoyment factor of being out for me. It’s probably relatively trivial but personally I feel a bit more on edge. It isn’t the same relaxing experience unfortunately.

Exact same for me. 'Have to' factor kills it. I can't be myself. Very trivial for a lot of people, I agree though. Not for me unfortunately.

I get why you said it.

But surely the last thing he should do is go shopping?

I get what you’re saying, but he needs to be ready to go the moment they know if anyone has got it.

As per the guidelines, if they were at the lunch and aren't showing symptoms they’re still okay with day to day stuff.

It’s only when someone starts with symptoms that they all have to self isolate.

Again, it’s down to freedom of choice and the individual(s).

I wish you all the best in telling my dad he’s not allowed out anymore as he’s “ too old and vulnerable “ lol

Yeh he's in the same position I'm in with my mum.

She's got to self-isolate because a student teacher got a positive test and I'm in her bubble but until mum gets symptoms/positive test I don't have to self-isolate.

Shouldn’t he be “ forcibly “ shielding too ?

Just like the 20 million he shielded during his purges, expulsions, imprisonments, manufactured famines, forced displacements and torture, by the use of that well proven shielding device of mass murder....

incoming in 5,4,3,2,1.....
