What do we make out of the situation in China? Barely 4000 'cases' since early april.
Surely due to the heavy lockdown there, if there is a country that should have suffered the most from a second wave it is them? Or are we dealing with pure lies? Or something else altogether that we don't know?
Probably in the 'who knows' catagory, there must be ex-pats out there though who could at least shed light on the general vibe and what measures have been taken

Sounds very similar to my local. Even had a band in the garden the other Sunday afternoon. But once the nights draw in, it reverts to a drinkers pub, with a very loyal customer base through the winter just ticking over.

Google Black Horse, Clapton in Gordano, and you will see what its like.

Very similar to ours....looks a lovely pub.....

I appreciate that. The point I was making though is that Sweden has got to a similiar position as the Uk without adopting such restrictive and damaging policies. And while it is also experiencing increased cases in recent weeks that rate of increase is somewhat slower than our own (not that I put any store by how many positive cases are being found -- look more, particularly amongst population groups believed to be more vulnerable to infection, and you'll find more).
Cant imagine why Sweden is held up as a great success.
Their death rate per million population is 10 times bigger than neighbours Finland and Norway. Both introduced early and extensive lockdown.
Sweden let over 5000 people die in retirement homes.,

Hospital figures - 23 deaths were announced today, down 15 on yesterday and up 2 on last Saturday. 20 deaths were in English hospitals, down 13 on yesterday and up 4 on last week with 19 occurring in the past 10 days. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 25

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 35 deaths were announced today, up one on yesterday and up 8 on last Saturday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 30.29

There has been no released figures as yet for the 60 day and legacy cut offs

Centralized state control = greater efficiency on public health matters.
