People are now panic buying paracetamol, after a news article emerged from France saying that Ibuprofen makes the illness more severe but paracetamol works well.

You can't get it anywhere now - sold out completely!

It'd be nice if the media at least held Trump and Johnson to account for the lack of community testing.
Well, we can shake hands, well obviously I mean elbows, regarding community testing. As I called in this morning, all I got was 'make sure you quarantine for 2 weeks and make sure you take the medicine we're sending you'.

Have to call back when I get a fever or starting to breath difficult. So, if I don't get those symptoms, I'll never know if I actually got that Covid-19 virus or it was just an ordinary cold.

LBC They had the factory owner on this am he stated his output 500 per year they are sent out all over the world based in the UK sp the HS is talking wham Hancock.... then a top specialist came on and stated they could have thousands but no staff .....its chaos and as I stated 3 weeks ago Hancock was not a very good poker player....you could tell he was spouting promises that were just not believable......
Just like Boggis and the rest of his cabinet of incompetents.

US - “there are tests for this?”

Going forward, testing blood to see who's developed antibodies will be at least as important.

Apparently that ( serological ? ) test is hoped to about a month away, but, once it's available, you can see it being rolled out to health professionals first, then anyone who's job is critical to keeping things going , people involved in social care etc to make sure they can't ( or are very unlikely ) to catch the disease and pass it onto their colleagues or patients.

How do you go about volunteering in Ireland? I'd be quite happy to do something, in a week or 2.

Contact your local St Vincent de Paul, or local Meals on Wheels. HOWEVER, you will need Garda vetting before being allowed to represent any charitable organisation in direct contact with members of the public.

the relevant organisations will advise - it is much quicker than it used to be. The organisation now requests the garda vetting people to email you for your details. You respond and the vettign is conducted.

Mind you, vetting is required for every single different activity involving different people - So, e.g. vetting to help VdeP will not suffice for a community Meals on Wheels - this would need separate vetting.

EU Commission meeting tomorrow to decide if 30 day ban on non-essential travel to EU will be imposed.

How this might affect the island of Ireland is soemthing taht i cannot answer !!

I'm more worried about the 'leccy bill. Our ad revenue this month so far is 45.6% down, forecast to be around 70% down at the end of the month.

No football matches = WE'RE DOOMED.
The experience industry is in for a massive hit over the coming months if there is a continuation of large shutdowns, many associated business from the festival to the market town continental farmer market will cease. Many self employed and gig economy workers are going to be experiencing Universal credit in all its ineptness.
