Trying to get an online test on the NHS site, Can you just refresh the page that says sorry try later? or do you have to go through from the beginning each time, apologies if it’s inane.

Well that's my mum's classroom and another in the school bubble sent home today after someone came back with a positive test.

Can't see schools staying open much longer myself.
My Mrs’s is a TA, her bubble has been sent home today as well, Her teacher tested positive and now she’s trying to get a test as she’s not too clever herself,
It’s a crime that it’s wealth over health.

It would also provide evidence as to whether there really is a second wave or whether the increase in detected positive cases is a result not just of the massive expansion of the search for cases but also a testing focus targeted on sub-groups of the population who,for the sort of reasons you name, are more vulnerable to infection.
Back in March, one John Ioannidis, eminent professor of both medicine and statistics, warned that Covid-19 may turn out to be 'an evidence fiasco'. His worries have already been proven well founded. Unfortunately the full extent of the fiasco has yet to gain public prominence.
Liverpool hospital and ITU admissions increasing over the last month. Maybe macabre but will be interesting to see if the death rate follows suit

Yeh mum says she feels fine just annoyed she’s stuck in the house for 2 weeks now. Told her to keep me updated with how she’s feeling.

And if you were on the right side of the argument you'd see it as the left being biased.

I cba with it because it justs end up going around in circles.
But the majority of the media are owned by billionaire right wing types.....that is a fact not an opinion. Also the next DG of the BBC is a confirmed Tory supporter.
Confirmed bias.

Covid is spreading like wildfire through universities already.

What’s worse, missing Christmas at home for a year or killing your elderly relatives who come to visit ?
Are they the only options? How about the elderly relatives not making the visit? Or everyone getting tested shortly before the visit is to take place? or all in the household wearing masks 100% of the time they are in each others company? Government interventions should not be the default action. Personal responsibility should be.
