Okay I see your point.

Suppose a lot just hoped our efforts earlier in the year would avoid this. Obviously not.

When you see people out not wearing masks or social distancing then it's sadly not that surprising. These restrictions aren't particularly punitive, but if people are going to be stupid then they will undoubtedly become so. We've all got to take some personal responsibility for how we behave. I mean when I was quarantining last month, no one from the government checked up on me (bad on them), but equally, had they done so they would have found me home throughout (good on me). I've read stats saying that just 20% of those who were supposed to quarantine actually did so. What do we expect to happen when we behave like that?

They're two completely separate things. Tracking and tracing only comes into play once someone is infected, and is the preserve of government, but not getting infected, or indeed behaving properly when you are infected, is down to us. I mean if @COYBL25 's family wanted, they could get out and about, go shopping, generally be knobheads despite having a confirmed test. That's not the government's fault, that's their responsibility. If the people his family has been in contact with haven't been informed so they can get themselves tested, then that's down to the government.

Talking of track and trace, despite her positive test early Monday morning, she still hasn’t been contacted yet

Do people seriously think everyone will leave the pub at 10 and head straight home? Surely they aren't that naive.

Yes of course, we've people up down the country from government and on these forum argue that alcohol is basically not a social disinhibitor and therefore social distancing will be adhered too. It's happy hour on Brawndo...

It’s mad, that’s at least 24 hrs for the virus to be spreading elsewhere.

The track and trace form should’ve been attached to the positive test result !!!

It can’t be that hard can it ??

It does appear to have been a shambles. I mean you heard stories of those employed to do it having nothing to do at the start of this, and I'm sure I remember them saying a lot of those were eventually let go? In which case, what is going on?

So the odd few people let’s say 1% aren’t wearing masks are causing the spread of this?
like I said yesterday why wasn’t there a spike just after BLM protests?
Or after the hundreds of thousands on the beaches across the country?
So where’s the evidence that mass gatherings are in fact the cause of the spread? Because from what we’re being told ‘The rule of 6’ is BS
Yet You have 22 players from various countries all over each other for 90 minutes it’s laughable that people are buying this crap! There’s a million things in this world that can make us ill or kill us and COVID is just one more.
