I went to watch a friendly game near Belfast on Saturday afternoon. It was a mainly terraced ground so plenty of room to stand. They took contact details for track and trace on way in and spaced people out.

I went more out of curiosity than anything but it was handled well and it showed to me that it can work. I see no logical reason why the gradual return to full stadiums can't start now.

I don't think it'll be full for a bit, as getting 50-60,000 people through while maintaining social distancing will be a push. The Spurs pilot is ultimately aiming for around half capacity.

Oh I'm not saying we have full stadiums, it's always going to be gradual. But it has to start now at say quarter capacity and then we build it up. There's no reason stadiums can't fill every fourth seat or something like that.

A colossal scandal this. If it’s not sorted out very quickly (which is hard to do given that it’s a consequence of how test and trace is performed by them) they will either have to do another total lockdown again or let tens of thousands die.

Yep, absolutely shocking, but without a test will they be counted ?

The problem with doing this is fans will just move to sit by mates in those empty seats.

When we do get back in it has to be strict from the club, season ticket holders only and you stay in your seat or your banned.

Kids dont care, the school buses are rammed but most dont wear masks and when not in school they just hang out in gangs.

I was all for the lockdown and regulations at first when 800+ were dying a day - but when cases are rising yet the death rate is around 50-60 a day (which even then that number will be spread over a week or so) I find it all a bit tedious now.

The problem is the Government cant do anything - if they enforce stuff they are being tyrants if they dont they are shouted at as murderers.

No win situation thanks to Karen on social media whinging about anything & everything.
