Banning large gatherings in private dwellings will of course have an impact on the virus spread. That’s why it was one of the last things in many countries to be relaxed.

As part of a proper system of dealing with this yes, but what these are doing is announcing something as if it’s going to deal with this.

It won’t, just as getting the bizzies to give fines to groups of seven or more in public won’t happen most of the time (as it didn’t during the actual lockdown).

I don’t think it will be anything like that much, especially as they are keeping pubs and restaurants open and encouraging other things that are going to spread the disease more than this will.

I also think this is being done to make it sound as if they’re doing something rather than fix these issues with track and trace.
