There was always going to be an increase in cases once the lockdown restrictions were eased.

Everyone has just been following the government’a advise. I don’t see how they can turn this back on young people and say they’re not socially distancing at pubs, etc.

Is the NHS overwhelmed? I think that’s the big question that needs answering.

No they haven’t.

I saw pictures on Instagram from somebody I know who had a 30th birthday party with must have been 15+ people all hugging and zero attempt to social distance. Friends, not family, so probably at least 6 or 7 different households minimum.

Young people flouting the rules are the main cause of this uptick in cases. It’s not people working in offices or going to school.

Embarrassing.

Workers in offices and kids going to school aren’t the ones causing the spread currently. It’s 19-30 year olds being selfish twerps.

Even if that is true what most people do is irrelevant, and bars are not a barometer because that’s not where the main spread is occurring. It’s indoors in private households or at other gatherings not taking place in privately owned businesses.

Im sure there have been.

Unless you propose we stop all economic activity until a vaccine is found you must have a compromise which involves avoiding unnecessary gathering. The service sector which employs millions cannot afford another full lockdown and some businesses do need office workers to be in.

In pretty much no circumstances however do you need dozens of young people gathering in each other’s houses.

I’ve been going into the office once per week, none of us have tested positive and every member of staff is temperature checked upon entry and exit. Something tells me this isn’t happening in people’s homes.

i think , mostly , people have . When people haven’t seen each other or have had emotional news do they shake hands or hug ? Of course they do sometimes and I understand that’s not perfect or even desirable but it’s reality and to pretend it’ll never happen seems foolhardy .

Most bars it’s certainly no standing , sanitiser on the way in and around the place , a lot no going the bar And enforcing distancing when they can . In those that take it in a few it’s gone from 80% cash to 30/40 % , people are trying .

WHAT IS THE POINT IN ONLY EVER TESTING PEOPLE WHO ARE SHOWING SYMPTOMS IN A PANDEMIC?!

That pretty much confirms that the government are only interested in tests when people have got it. So no actual plan to see how many hidden numbers there are in terms of the country to be able to manage it more effectively.

It's embarrassing now. Should be testing as many as possible , not just the ones who have it to find out how widespread it is.

And why are they unnecessary? They have a long list of symptoms that yesterday added headaches and sniffles to it. How on earth are you supposed to even know you have it before you get tested anymore?

That’s just not true.

If you read back you’ll see that the ONS are sending out letters to members of the public asking households to enroll in a testing programme.

People randomly ordering covid tests before they go on holiday or go to see their gran is not beneficial to this research because it is not a controlled study.

3 days I've been trying to get a test without any luck,nearest available is Aberdeen 367 miles away, if this is how track and trace is working across the British Isles were screwed.
