One direct case I work with has had varying impact. The husband was hospitalised and ventilated and weeks later at home is breathless getting off the sofa for a wee.

The daughter wasn’t ill but lost sense of smell and taste. All food tastes horrible now but she stomachs Mac and Cheese. GP has admitted they have no idea how to treat it.

The Mum is now suffering panic attacks and poor mental health. Her anxiety convinces her she can’t get a deep breath.

The son, he’s fine. He enjoyed a school ski trip in Italy in February and has no ill effects at all.
Again, spread the Information. It may not kill but can leave some very nasty after effects.

I think the world has been lucky that this isnt a more virulent, dangerous pandamic, not to write off the people that have suffered, but some world leaders and general public need to take a long hard look at themselves and thank the lord it wasnt worse

Yes, this one could have been a lot worse. The next one could be just as infectious but 100 times more lethal.
There will be a next one soon unless the world changes its ways.

But there is no case for saying the next one . The last serious virus that existed came from China , happened to be a respiratory one as well, within 20 years, if you want a conspiracy theory.

But generally if you go on the basis that viruses aren't man made and go in the face of the conspiracy theory and more on the direct knowledge. We can't avoid it , without making us all sick or shut down modern life.

If covid-19 just happened and was a just freak happening then how could you defend against it? There is no defence unless you have a cure. You will never have a cure at first so you can't defend against it. Simply reacting well solves the problem.

The world can't help it if a virus suddenly appears , we can't control that. All we can do is learn and have measure in place to restrict one in the future.

We are contributing to many different problems on the planet but as for pandemic level viruses, that's unpreventable naturally

This kind of info needs to be more widely spread. Too many people think that anyone getting the virus either dies or makes 100% recovery.

For sure. Actually what I think is putting the frighteners on many I know at the moment is those that have started using the antibodies test. A lot of colleagues thought they had a mild dose of it March - April, but their tests are coming up as negative now.

You know what? Crap like this really doesn’t help. People use it as an excuse not to wear a mask when it seems a massive battle to actually get people to wear them. The media need to stop giving bellwhiffs ammunition.
However, the authors do encourage people to wear masks and are suggesting that manufacurers use their technique to evaluate their product.
They say that layers of woven fabric best, knitted fabric masks not very good to useless.

You’re amusing people will actually take the time to read it, rather than use it as a Karenesque rant about how no masks are good enough.

While I agree some won’t wear a mask regardless, this rules out three types that are pretty common here in the US. It could help businesses determine guidelines for what constitutes a mask for employees and patrons. Also confirms other studies showing efficacy of 3 layered cotton masks.

The UK guidance was pretty specific; wear face masks or a face covering. IIRC, Johnson went out of his way to explain that any face covering was better than nothing. In my experience, everyone wears sommet in the shops, more masks than scarfs though.
