I am not thinking another national lockdown though.

Oddly enough I have now been working at home for half a year. Not sure I have ever worked harder. It's a weird one - I'm not one of life's "do as I'm told" type people - but I've really followed the rules across the lockdown. If it happens again, I'll do so again.
I agree. No national lockdown though. I don’t even think they’ll lock london down fully again.

im still WFH too and have worked harder (or at least much more efficiently as it doesn’t *feel* harder). It’s massively suited me.

They’ve just introduced a policy where anyone can WFH as much as they like. I see clients face to face a lot so it won’t be all the time for me but it’s going to have a massive impact on work life balance long term I’d imagine.

Believe there was a march in Liverpool yesterday protesting about wearing masks, Covid conspiracy etc etc. ‘Kin numbskulls.

There seemed to be a march at St George's Hall yesterday but I thought that was about NHS staff wanting a pay rise. But then I saw another vid at St George's Hall which sounded like what you've mentioned as well but not sure when the vid was filmed.

I actually heard a conversation between 2 women earlier
Woman 1"why are you wearing a mask?"
Woman 2 "Im on my way to the Asda"
Woman1 "I wont wear one"
Woman2 "Why?"
Woman 1 "I read on FB a woman wore one, swallowed her own bacteria and is now on life support"
Woman 2 "Really? Well they dont tell you that on the news do they"
Thats the world we live in

yeah, it’s just a video I’ve seen which looked like it was through town, people with placards and all that. To be fair, can’t say for sure it was yesterday as haven’t seen reported anywhere except this one Facebook vid.

I think that's essentially happened by stealth at ours too. I would say they've gone from getting 45-50 hours to 50-60 hours week out of 75% of the organisation, whilst freeing up a massive amount of estate to sell. Effective redundancies will happen at ours by non-renewal of contractors, recruitment freezes and perhaps non-renewal of some of the fixed term agreements. An easy way to cut numbers by 15% or more.

Not quite as sure about London though. I think the groundwork is being laid with this weekend's papers in that we will have lots (and lots) of localised lockdowns, to the extent that it will be national in all but name. I can't see myself back in the office until Jan 2021.

I think you might see boroughs locked down but not the entire city.

There is talk of a phased return to our office in September and with the new rule I can see that happening. Come into the office if you want. WFH if you want. Most clients won’t fancy it so they’ll just stick to the phone and zoom for now so not really worth going in.

So I’ll be in infrequently between now and the end of the year. And I guess maybe 50:50 once back to ‘normality’.

Agreed. Hopefully the days of us losing a thousand people a day are over.

I have to say I know of a couple of c-19 "survivors" and the damage for some of them is shocking. Even a basic work call for them sounds like they are at Base Camp.
This kind of info needs to be more widely spread. Too many people think that anyone getting the virus either dies or makes 100% recovery.
