I just nipped to the Marks and Spencer food hall to buy some scran.
I wore a mask, my lad wore a mask, I didn’t even look to see if anyone else was to be honest.
Purely out of interest, if you were stopped by staff and told to wear one, what would your attitude be like ? Genuine question.
Me and the missus went to a pub last night for a drink and a bite to eat. They've set up temporary external eating accommodation (basically tents with the flaps kept open). They weren't serving food in doors. We had to put masks on to go inside the pub to use the loos, even though there wasn't anybody apart from staff indoors. I went to the car to get our masks. No question.
Earlier in the day we had gone to a posh hotel for a cream tea. Although we were going to be eating on the terrace, we had to walk through the hotel to get to the terrace and they made us wear masks inside the hotel. Again we just did it.
Neither of those occasions was it compulsory to wear a mask, it was just the establishments exercising their own judgment on what was required to keep their staff and guests safe, at a time when we have a zillion visitors to the county. We didn't question the house rules and didn't witness anybody else doing so. We just went along with it. At the end of the day we could always have gone somewhere else but we chose not to.
I really don't see what the big issue is with masks
