Anywhere indoors where face masks aren't used and social distancing is lax A.K.A the household.
So you think me going to my mum's house I'm more at danger than the supermarket where not everyone is wearing a mask?

Because they aren't challenging people at large supermarkets. Again seen it first hand recently and there is plenty of talk about it online.

That logic means my mum is more dangerous to me than a mass gathering of people indoors.

.........

And before you imply otherwise, yes I wore a mask in said supermarket even though I knew noone would question me on it.

Isn't that implying that everyone is wearing a mask that is fit for purpose and not just a covering? Also wearing it just right on their face with the right fitting?

Yes the general concensus is right , wearing a mask will reduce it significantly compared to not wearing one. And having anything will reduce it further.

Thank you for agreeing with me then on supermarkets vs homes.

Actually I'm not, as per second reply.

But I'm saying yes , any face covering is reducing transmission. Just consider if the person wearing it has the correct one or not which is reducing it by the right amount.

Well I can only go on where I live but you can't enter a shop without a mask as there is a guard on the door.

Are you and your mum in a bubble? Did you wear a mask in her house? Did you social distance if not in a bubble? Has she social distanced with other people outside of her house?

No need to lie on the above if it's only to support your argument.

No we aren't in a bubble , although the only household she has visited has been ours. She has been out the pub more than once (showed how empty it was) and she regularly goes the supermarket as you would expect.

Given I have seen her around 5-6 times despite all of this and not been sick or visa versa , there is no risk there.

Yet all those in Asda last week who didn't have masks on were less of a danger to me?

Literally Google it, you will find loads of discussion including an unofficial list of which supermarkets weren't challenging people.

I can only speak from my own experience and Asda had no staff with masks and were not challenging customers to wear one either. I'm probably off there today as well and will see the same again I imagine. But by your logic, I'm safer there than my mum's house :hayee:

Not gone down well at all last night's news in this area. In fact everyone has just said they can do one.

Quite a lot of anger aimed at the council. All the affected areas here are the Muslim areas. Not racist to say that it's a fact. The council have been aware of that for 2 weeks and seem to have done nothing about it
I live on outskirts of Wigan R rate 7 last i seen below national average why include all areas of greater Manchester wigan is about 30 miles from Oldham and rochdale.

Considering we're talking about a situation that came into effect last night, when all shops require facemasks, I'm not sure why you're talking about supermarkets in the past tense.

Also thanks for basically admitting you don't follow social distance rules with your mum but it's okay because you're currently not sick. You know, because you have to have symptoms to have this virus.

Every time you post I just want to slam my face into the keyboard.

I don't care who the PM is. I believe in personal responsibility. I back my own ability to make common sense decisions over any government.

Not questioning your common sense. Just questioning your belief of other people applying their common sense to manage their personal responsibility, what is the measure what are definitions?

But the only way me not following social distance rules with my mum would be dangerous was if pubs and supermarkets were a risk to health then?

Which then makes what you say hypocritical to say it's more dangerous? The places that are fine to go to and more risk free than someone's home would then make them a risk to me if I see someone who has visited them?

Think about it. Maybe when you bang your head in your keyboard you think about the logic in what you are saying?

Supermarkets were instructed to have face masks on 24th July , not last night. So yes , my experience last Saturday with maskless customers / staff is very applicable.

I have no idea how you can say not socially distancing from my mum is dangerous yet the places she visits are fine for her to go to which is the only way she would catch the virus?

Or me who only goes to work and the shops where measures are in place?

Again no logic whatsoever in what you are saying to me. Just think about it.

But pubs and supermarkets are still a health risk - I never said they're zero risk? You are arguing they are more of a health risk than houses? Yet you don't think this means it's dangerous to not social distance with your mum?

You're such an idiot lol

Ignoring the numbers as I don't know how accurate they are this image shows why I, personally, feel safer walking round Asda for 20 minutes than I do at a house party for a few hours.

Absolutely true, it's because of viral load. A direct blast in the face from a cough is multitudes worse than catching a lingering aerosol. Which is why you're much more likely to catch it at home if someone has it, but my point was the home only contains a few people, so the odds of catching it in terms of raw numbers is much less than in a supermarket, regardless of masks. You're just more likely to avoid it at a supermarket too.
