Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Curious as to why you would be comfortable being in an office but not on public transport?

I declare my hand in that I wouldn’t fancy being sat in either right now.

I have to get the train to the office twice a week. The train is probably a bit worse because you have people close to you some of whom don't wear masks or don't wear them properly. It's crap being at the office to though TBH.

Caught a snippet on the radio yesterday saying that you could have had Coronavirus say in March, got treated for it and came through, then A couple of months later got run over and killed yet Coronavirus would be mentioned on the death certificate and you would then be included in the Coronavirus death stats. Surely I heard that wrong? If that is the case then that's ridiculous.
It's quite an extreme example like, which most probably never happened. What would probably be a lot more common would be death resulting from blood clots after contracting Covid, which one wouldn't want to exclude. Obviously this method becomes more problematic as time progresses.

Stick to excess deaths.

Because of an abnormally low figure for a Friday, tomorrow’s figure will be massively lower than last Saturday for same reason
Why let facts get in the way of a good story.

As I've said before, don't let the stalkers get to you. You're doing a fine job keeping us informed

Being hit by a bus might not happen but dying of a totally unrelated cause after having Covid19 could certainly happen yet Covid19 is still likely to be mentioned on the death certificate which is utterly ridiculous but has been proven to have happened to make sure the stats are boosted to meet the government's agenda.

Iirc the paper reckons this aspect may lead to an over reporting of 1-2k total (but will get progressively worse).

It just makes the discrepancy between these stat's and excess deaths worse.

Is anyone else feeling a bit confused by the Government lately?

Making the wearing of masks mandatory in shops - good, should be extended to every public space apart from bars and restaurants IMO where social distancing measures can be adhered to from my experience over the past couple of weeks.

Everyone should go back to the office - uh, wtf?

Anyone who looked deeper months ago could see the stats are flawed. So not suprised at this.
Why are you not surprised?

Out of 40 odd thousands, how many people do you think have died in a road accident after being tested positive for the virus.
Not going to screw the results an awful lot is it?
Don't fall for propaganda trying to make out that government action is not as bad as it is.

Why do you think masks should be worn in all public places except for bars/restaurants? Aren’t they the sort of places people are likely to be closer to others? Drunk people have no concept of personal space at the best of times.

But on the right side of course. Overquoting figures in this case is surely better than under quoting?

I'm going on my personal experience. People are being more cautious around these parts in bars and restaurants.

It may be different in the big city, I am but a country bumpkin.

I find it completely incredible that the English are still not wearing masks in shops, in Spain we have been wearing them for months, and here and elsewhere in the world they prove their worth. Are the English now as stupid as the Americans?

Im not sure it’s fair to call an entire population stupid because they’re following the government and are less informed than you.
