The thing is Dave, you're positioning yourself as the ultimate arbiter of taste, which I'd hope you would understand is ridiculous. Lots of people buy things that I wouldn't personally touch in a month of Sundays, but it's frankly none of my business what they do with their money, and I wouldn't dream of mandating that people only buy things I personally deem acceptable. I suspect that's ultimately why you follow socialism so intently, because you believe you know what's best for everyone's life, and socialism is the only way that you can force them to follow your doctrine.

Looks at everything that it happening in the United States:

"Socialism is the only way that you can force them to follow your doctrine".

I mean, come on, why pretend anymore?

Large parts of the United States opened up because of purely economical reasons. There are millions of people that have been forced to risk the lives of, not only themselves, but everyone else close to them - all in the fear of not being able to pay rent.

Oh yeah, well I agree with that. A nation of almost completely unfettered individualism not a great foundation for a fight against anything that requires a coordinated collective response

But why is the US relevant to a discussion about the UK ?

Plus a lot of the breweries would use it as an excuse to cash in on the property value of the pub for alternate use ( flats / houses / shops etc ) - the Roscoe Head in town immediately springs to mind.

I think with the pressures they’ve been under for years and now the current SD rules this ongoing battle might just be too challenging to continue .

Isn't the crux of that there hasn't been almost anyone getting infected a second time?

Which only supports the view that, post infection, people have immunity. The crux of the matter is how long that immunity lasts, and, if immunity is lost, what happens when you get reinfected ?

To which, for all the research going on, the true answer is that nobody knows.

On immunity, and antibodies, you have to look at the following graph ( the top one ) in the context that it represents a sample of people with antibodies, so any trends that might seem to be there could be false, but it's worth keeping an eye on. The data comes from samples taken from blood donors in England.

On the face of it, it suggests that the level of antibodies in London might be dropping off, but the data changes are within the error boundaries so it's too early to tell if it's a real downward trend or not. I'd imagine it'll be at least four to six weeks before it becomes clear one way or the other to see the true situation.

like you say there is just so much conflicting and ever changing information about it , I think it’ll be a while until we have any clear kind of picture and I totally understand why but without the hope of some kind of ‘long term immunity ‘ I think a lot of high level and very challenging thinking is going to have to take place .

Help me out here. There is a theory knocking about that this was manufactured by the Chinese,to cripple global economy. Is this just the ramblings of a few loons or is there something in it ??
