The actual daily deaths, and the pressure on the NHS, are "Ok" mate.

That said, I share your concern re pubs and bars. Seems premature to me.

171 people dying with this per day is not "ok" by any stretch of the imagination...and this is as "good" as it gets we're now being told.

The two things that I've come to realise in the face of this Public Health emergency:

People are very easily knocked by the slightest interruption to their routines and very pleased by the slightest ability to do something completely non essential, that they have been stopped from doing fully for a matter of months.

In addition, 47 new cases have been added to the total case number after a revision of historical data for Pillar 1. Due to improvements in how the coronavirus death data is processed in England, a further 109 deaths that occurred in April, May and June 2020 have been confirmed in addition to 166 new deaths reported to PHE today. So the cumulative deaths total is 109 higher than if you added the daily figure to yesterday’s total.


The real number is closer to 300.

Dont worry, Johnson has said hes taking full responsibility and if it goes wrong he'll put the handbrake on. He'll hate putting the handbrake on so we'll fly through this and we'll all be posing in front of the mirror in the nude in no time.
