"Remain at least 1m apart while taking mitigating action to reduce the risk of transmission."

WTF does that even mean in the context of a pub? Get a face mask on every time spomeone comes within a metre?

Daft murderous Tory gets.

i’ve genuinely no Real idea what it means But ive felt much the same for a couple of months .

You work at a gym?

You should just be thankful you're not faced with an army of huffing puffing Covid19 carriers breathing all over you.

Personal trainer, trying for an MA in kinesiology.

Never thought the gyms should be open anytime soon, but when I see Johnson opening the pub and restaurant floodgates I can see why a lot of people are a bit gutted.

This notion that pubs can safely be opened, especially now football is on tv non-stop, is just so ludicrous that it could only have come from this bunch of idiots.

121 people killed by this virus announced for today...and these scumbags are about to reopen Covidq19 laboratories AKA pubs, bars and restaurants. It is still carnage out there with this virus.

What 'kin world do these scumbags live ion? And what sort of people accept what they say as rational and supportable?

got to say between that and the slightly vague politician type answers of the scientists i’m feeling the same as you .

It may be nothing other than a placebo, but I was always reassured by the medical and science folk, even when it was really grim.

Now the prompts for behaviour will be newspaper headlines. The Mail had one I noticed the other day, along the lines of Britain is ready for a holiday. We really are not.

50 per 100,000 is actually quite a high benchmark

To put it into context ...

The last ONS estimate of infections in the UK is 1 in 1700.
That's equivalent to 59 per 100,000, so, by German standards, large parts of the UK should be in lockdown.

It's not quite that simple because the Germans criteria is for new infections per week, which will be less than the total number of people infected, but, even so, there will almost certainly be quite a few areas in the UK which would currently meet the German criteria for being locked down.

A balance needs to be struck, but we're treading a risky path. Hopefully we'll get away with it.

I guess the German figure is hugely localised following their outbreak, whereas ours is UK, or England, wide.
