With luck you'll get lost down itHa Ha Ha.
Getting a lecture in morality from a Thatcherite.
Maybe I should "give my head a wobble"...just to see what rabbit hole I've fallen down.
Sections of society can look after themselves; I'm focused on the vulnerable 2.5M.Deride is ok though.
What term would you prefer for your attacks on various sections of society?
Get the BBQ on. Wooo Hooo.
The last part of this post refersGiven I'm not going to post confidential information on a football forum you probably won't get that.
But what specific questions would you like answering?
Okay
I've gone back through our posts on this because I thought you may have misunderstood what I was after, but I can see now that you did understand that I was specifically referring to coming out of lockdown. So ignore my last post about the apology.
I don't believe my use of the term slagging off was out of place here. It means critically attack and that's what your post did. I never said you were wrong to do so did I? Neither do I believe I am ignorant to the Tories incompetence in how they have handled this crisis. I can show you dozens of posts where I have been critical of them and my overall assessment of their performance so far is that they have been poor. On my old school annual assessments, the grades ranged from poor to excellent, with poor being the lowest. I have been particularly critical of their lack of leadership and very poor communications.
But I have also tried to add some balance and perspective to things because we were dealing very much with the unknown here and learning as we go along, and, despite what many people n here were saying at the time, the politicians were initially following the science, as the SAGE minutes confirm. Yes, the politicians are the end decision makers and have ultimate responsibility, but the advice from the scientists and the senior health and scientific permanent government staff has been questionable, as has the performance of elements of the civil service and NHS hierarchy. I'd also question opposition politicians who I expect to rally round in times of crisis and offer real constructive support, and I've seen very little of this. And I've already made clear my views of the role of the media in all this. Nobody in senior management roles have covered themselves in any glory.
Back on topic, the point I was trying to make was that your posts said a lot about how poor the government had been in delivering the changes to lockdown, but very little concerning the actual decisions they were making. And, to be clear, I don't necessarily disagree with what you said as regard the former. What are your views on the schools returning for instance, on the opening up of non essential shopping, on the 2m rule, on allowing those shielding out of the house for exercise, the use of masks on public transport, of allowing those living alone to visit one other household, and your views on the potential re-opening of restaurants, pubs, hotels, hairdressers etc.?
These revellers: they wont be the old and infirm though will they? They're the one's you believe should be given euthanasia. Remember?Think they're all heading round to yours later with balloons and a marching band.
Just as you would if you'd have lived through the Russian revolution or the long march to freedom. He hasn't got a terrible situation. FFS, if he had to live in Liverpool during the 80s he'd have had something to complain about.
You mean there was no fruit and veg to pick on the streets of toxteth? He hasn't got a terrible situation. FFS, if he had to live in Liverpool during the 80s he'd have had something to complain about.
A mix of people. Just like any normal Saturday in town. And yes I do remember and my point stands....some people would opt for euthanasia over prolonged life in misery, it's a simple fact. These revellers: they wont be the old and infirm though will they? What about those that don't meet the clinical threshold but have very significant health and social impacts by being in lockdown?Sections of society can look after themselves; I'm focused on the vulnerable 2.5M.
